Flickering
Bluelighter
I've been drinking the notorious calea zacatechichi tea about once a week for a couple of months now. Not the worst-tasting thing I've ever gotten down, as I've endured large amounts of cough syrup and cactus juice before. But it's still pretty damn bitter. Now, calea z. is also known as the 'dream herb'. It's said to affect your dreams, make them more vivid and easier to recall, and even make them lucid. I've been trying to have a lucid dream for a while but so far, to no avail.
Anyway, I've sprinkled as much as 2g of calea into tea before, and noticed a slight alteration in mood. I become more relaxed, but I also feel a bit strange and uncomfortable. Colours seem slightly more vivid and there's a general trippy feel to the atmosphere. It definitely has some subtle effect on my dreams.
Now, yesterday I decided to see what would happen if I smoked it instead. Me and my roommate went outside and spent an hour and twenty minutes getting through 9 bowls for him, 6 for me - and I also drank some tea. We estimate he had about 2.7g, and I had maybe 4.4g in total.
On his sixth hit, my roommate said that he'd just crossed over in much the same way you cross the threshold with weed - bam, you're high. Needless to say, I was quite surprised, because calea is not supposed to be hallucinogenic.
By my sixth hit, we were both noticing how chilled out we were, and how defined the colours in the night sky were. It was sort of like being stoned, but subtly distinct from it. Anyway, we decided that if this amount wouldn't give us lucid dreams, nothing would, and decided to go to bed.
I didn't get lucid dreams. But I woke up three hours later to what I can only call a +1. My headspace was weird, dissociated, something was happening. I definitely felt high. The dreams I had were also drastically different.
I'd last had cactus two days prior, and had vowed not to take any drug again for two months (beautiful experience, but time for a little break) so I was a bit annoyed with myself for getting high just two days later.
Anyway, this was a very surprising experience for me. Does anyone else have any strange experiences with calea z., or anything that might explain this phenomenon? Not much is known about the plant.
