Misc Calcium Carbonate - Potentiates a TON of oral medications.

I have yet to find a thread on this.

For me, it potentiates or lengthens the duration of almost everything injested. Opiates, amphetamines, kratom, benzos, and more.

Does everyone else find the same to be true? If so, what does it work with for you? I'm curious.
 
I haven't read such information anywhere except a higher pH destroying amphetamines in the stomach.

I can't imagine a higher pH helping the absorption of any drug, so I am curious of this as well. I see a lower pH giving a majority of drugs a greater bio availability. However, varying for each drug and most prominent in amphetamines.
 
Do you have any legit studies regarding this? Or just personal anecdotal reports? Not knockin' your thoughts, just curious myself. I know calcium carbonate can slow the metabolism of amphetamine and extend the duration, but NOT really increase the effects.

I suppose in regards to other pills, slowing digestive rates would make the experience a little longer, though I don't see how calcium carbonate can "potentiate" oral opioids or benzos.

Please elaborate.

This is actually opposite, brother. The amine group on Adderall is basic, which means it likes to pick up a proton in the stomach and become positively charged. Charged molecules are not readily absorbed well through the phospholipid bilayer of cells, so there is less absorption in the stomach. A base would lead to decreased protonation of the amphetamine in the stomach, and thus more absorption in the stomach, which will mean it is actually metabolized faster (however, most of the absorption will still be in the duodenum, due to its higher pH as compared to the stomach).

OP--Your theory is only going to work for molecules that are basic (same reasoning above).

I can attest to a more basic stomach resulting in a slightly more intense experience with amphetamines. It is hardly noticeable, but looking back I can realize the peak was slightly more intense, also longer. More of the drug is surviving through the passage of the stomach... I would say the equals a longer duration and more intensity.

Alkalinization of urine decreases renal elimination, thereby prolonging and relatively empowering amphetamine effects. Amphetamine half-life is co-relative to level of urinary pH. Excretion of amphetamine is pH-dependent.

Actually a higher pH is basic, which is what you want when you take carbonate (for adderall). Lower pH is acidic, which will reduce amphetamine levels.

You have any reputable links? I really can't think of anything scientifically wrong with my reasoning, that's just how it works. Charged molecules (e.g., protonated amphetamine) are absorbed through the cell membrane of the stomach less readily than uncharged molecules.
