CA, San Francisco - 10.02.2004 ***LOVE PARADE***

Yeah, count me out too... change of plans, not going anywhere this weekend. Sucks, but such is life. I feel like I'm missing a once in a lifetime event, I'm gonna be bummed not being able to witness all that chaos.
 
i'm on my way right now, leaving LA. kinda late, but it was a last minute decision. hope i run into some of you guys. i have no idea where to meet anyone. ok i'm off.
 
I wasn't able to make it either. Last minute change of plans made me not able to do ANYTHING this weekend =( .. I'm so sad I couldn't make it. I hope you all had fun.
 
glad i saw this thread after the event. :P it was fun though. i was at the dancesafe booth most of the night.

love machine afterparty was THE SHIT. rock on. time for bed.

okay, i only have 5 minutes left on my prepaid internet card. heh. so its sunday morning about 7:45am and im sitting in a coffee shop on fillmore. everyone and i mean EVERYONE is crashed out at the hotel a few blocks down and i am nowhere near trying to sleep. BAH! :p

love parade was frickin awesome! i had a blast. i did get erked at the fact that no locals knew what the hell love parade was. i asked several business owners for directions for the love parade route, and nobody knew. if they do this again next year, im so down to be there, and now i know EXACTLY where to go. SBC PARK!!!!!

we caught the last hour of the parade as we walked WITH the parade into SBC Park.

shit! 2 min 32 sec. heh.

we went into the festival area and had a blast. i was suprised, glad, and pumped that DJ David Coleman and Sen Sei were playing on a float (one of my personal fav talents).

shit!!! 1 min 48 sec.

okay, ill post more later since my time is almost out. but i just wanted to say that you are all a bunch of wimps!! ;) IM THE ROCKSTAR! I'm still freaking awake!!!! WTF!!! ROCKSTAR!!!!!! MEEEEEE!!!!! :)
 
The Parade was cool, where it ended was not. It would have been cool had it ended at Golden Gate Park next to "Reggae in the Park".

i briefly saw a few BLers, and that was nice. i spent about half my time trying to contact people on my cell phone in vain, and the other half wandering around and observing people.

i liked to see couples kissing and cuddling, and dancers drinking music to pour out their souls. i was disappointed that i didnt hear happy hardcore or trance.

my favorite part was when i saw an elderly couple sitting on a bench as the parade passed through embarcadero. they were just sitting there observing the scene, and the woman was trying to close her ears with her fingers. i approached them and handed them earplugs. their surprise was delightful. i could be, like, a hit and run earplug bestower from now on
(well i didn't say anything so i hope they knew i was giving them earplugs... i mean, what else would they think little colored pieces of foam are?)

I ask becasue I knew some people in San Fran on vacation the week before, and they saw nothing and heard nothing about it. Couldn't find anything about it. So, I was just wondering how the turnout was.

I made it up friday night, met some new bluelighters, re-aquainted with some old ones, had a fucking blast. Unfortunately I had to take off about 4am, because I worked all day (and all night saturday), but it was definately worth it.

I was reminded again why I love bluelighters so much. <3

well, i managed along but, for reasons, didn't manage to hook up with anybody. i feel like loser #1.

anyway, i'm back in SF now for 6 weeks until i head back to mountains for winter.

i must say, i had an amazing time. the parade was great, the people were a blast, and san francisco is beautiful! now i have the itch to move. i wish the floats could have been spaced out a little better afterwards, but all in all, i hope they do this here again next year. i will definently be there!

Nuh-UHH! :p I got back over there round 6 am and yeah, pretty much everyone was down and out, but I made it out to EndUp til 10...Ty made it out there too. <Dave Attell homage> You shoulda hung out man! Ten minutes after you left, the Dixie Chicks pulled up in the fun bus and did everybody...even the fat guy in the Babylon 5 t-shirt got a handjob! =D

Dude you got some suh-weet shots of the floats as we walked down there...your boys on the Thumpin' Pussy float CRUSHED IT on the way to the park! I nominate them for "Best of Show"...

I nominate the "Donnie Darko" bunny float for the "Director's Choice" award...and I nominate the girl peeing on the rocks by home base for the "Best Performance by a Newcomer" award...

I had an awesome time out there, and it was great meeting all you folks...hope they have it again next year!
 
I had a Great time metting all of the BLers up their and a great time at LP. I was just wondering what after partys you guys ended up at Me, LarrE and our group wear at Love Machine SF04 tell about 4am but we did not see anybody else their?
 
was the music good? i only recognize a handful of the names on the love parade site. im guessing it was mostly locals?
 
Oh yeah, one more thing.

So I was entering the McD's on the corner of 3rd and Townsend (across from SBC park) after the parade to use the restroom. The line was way too long for me to wait in, so I start to turn around. Then I notice someone in line who looked really familiar. Turns out, standing in line was that Dad who was featured on HBO for giving his kids E. He was waiting in line with his sons having a good time.

Anyways, I guess you had to be there. It was kinda funny at the time.
