CA, San Francisco - 09.23.06 Saturday - Loveparade

andy, i think your complaint stems from the fact that you are a techno lover and love parade/lovefest doesn't really showcase techno. san francisco in general is not much of a techno town.

there will, however, be a metric ton of breaks and a load of house music being played and an excuse to dance around in the streets can't ever be so bad.

see you guys there!

fair enough moe... but you're a house head yeah? any outta towners that weekend that you're really stoked for?

edit: i just saw that heather's playing *thrust* woops, different event

i'm a good times head. i'm actually pretty stoked for a lot of the breakbeat acts that are playing at Love Infusion after the parade: rennie pilgrem, hyper, general midi, etc. i'm doubly excited to see carbon community at that show - they are my boys from my stint in dallas, tx and any reason to hang out with them kicks ass.

i'm kind of a sucker for fun street parties too, so i suppose that has something to do with my level of excitement.

ps: m420, if you're concerned about the first week of october getting too crazy, Want It is going to throw an even bigger wrench in your plans to take it easy ;)

hmm

i want to go to this. i've never been to a rave before, and i'd like to meet some of the other bluelighters. how much are tickets?

the day time event - with many soundsystems - outside at the civic center, is based on donations at the gate.

the cost of any event you go to later in the evening will depend on where you choose to go.

the massive at bill graham civic center is 50 bucks. the lineup is stacked with oakenfold and dyloot headlining. if you are going to the after party pm maybe we can meet up.

It's by birthday as well. I pretty damned excited. I had kinda wanted to go check out the Love Infusion show, but my friends over rulled me. But oh well. The Civic Center after party was a blast last year, so I would expect the same again.

Happy birthday thizzSantaCruz.

i'm playing from 2-3 at this party and i think the whole night is going to be super dope. there are a load of good afterparties this year, so i'm sure you'll have an awesome time at the civic center party if you go there instead, especially if you like trance better than breakbeat.

is anyone going that can offer a ride back to the south bay or a place to crash? plz pm i'd appreciate it

hope you all are havin' fun! :)

I'm jealous of yous who get to see dyloot! I remember when he was doing those tiny ass basement rooms over at majere's place downtown. ohh nostalgia. :)

What can I say?! Love Parade was awsome. I had never experienced an actual parade like that before, it was very impressive. With a wide variety of food, plenty of booze, and interesting people this was a very unique parade.

The after party was more of the same. Skills always seems to deliver with a great line up. Personally I love the venue where it was, the upper deck stadium seating sets it apart from the other venues in my mind.

I am all ready happily counting down the days until Skill's next massive in norther california.

Yup fatmig forced me to go!!!....... I wanted to stay home and watch a fund raising event on PBS. How can 10,000+ hot, sweaty, love infested people have so much fun in a dark, light show excessive, bone shaking, booty jumping event like the after party? Please.... It should have been illegal! :p 8( 8o =D
