CA, San Francisco - 09.23.06 Saturday - Loveparade

I'm probably gonna fly out to this one.

Perhaps we should begin to organize a meetup?

like last year, friends are getting married that weekend so i won't be able to make it. seems to be a pretty popular weekend for "love" :D

I might be there. I dunno, last year it was waaaaaaay too gay for my liking. No offense, but seriously, as a skinny white kid it gets rather annoying being hit on by every gay man ins San Fran.

^^^whatever, homophobe

Yeah, I'm a homophobe because I don't like being groped by gay men. Never happened to me anywhere else BUT Loveparade, been doing this for 10 + years.

Besides, you've probably danced your ass off to one of my sets, idiot.

indeed - there were loads of after parties last year but i know a couple of the larger groups were trying to sell their parties as the 'official' after party.

i went to a pretty small psytrancer at the blue cube where naked tourist and others blew me away. at dawn, we went to mighty but it was a bit slack so, of course, you know where we 'ended up'... :)

*bump*

This is only a few weeks away. Who's coming? September is going to be a busy month for me, but looks like I'll be in SF after all.

Flights into and out of SF/Oakland are surprisingly cheap atm if you can deal with not bringing fruit punch Gatorade on board. ;) I'd imagine hotels are filling up fast, so get moving :)

honestly, there are a few worth while events associated with lp but moreover it's cheese central. i dont get it! sf is a for real city with a great music scene and this event has yet to really take off. organizers need to get serious and start booking some real musicians during "love week" instead of locals and cheesey club djs.

i will not be attending :\

biggest name there is paul oakenfold. Some might consider that cheese and lately I do since he recently has produced a song featuring britany murphy. What the fuck?

hey andy

i think i've been in town for the last two lp's and my friends and i have found a load of good parties to attend after the main daytime event.

i think the problem is that there is an 'official' after-lp schedule which centered around, if i recall correctly, 1015 last year. then there's a slightly wider circle of events which position themselves as semi-official: located at ruby skye and places like that.

beyond that, there's a host of small, less well-promoted parties which cater for a less mainstream sound. last year, i attended an after-lp party at the blue cube featuring crazy psytrance from naked tourist et. al.

i have a foot in the psytrance 'scene' here in sf and the people throwing the blue cube party had a sound system at the civic center earlier in the day. that sdaid, i don't think i saw a flyer or a formal listing for the party i attended - i heard about it on the psytrance grapevine. indeed, the threads in this forum for the event in '04 and '05 both had links to less well-publicised events.

ali, im talking about large scale events showcasing big names, but the type of big names that draw serious fans of music- not kids and clueless tossers. where's dave clarke, speedy j, danny t, josh wink, richie, etc etc?? miami, detroit, montreal, and to a lesser degree seattle have all pulled together these kind of festivals and lp (imo) still fails to deliver a compelling line up.

this is gonna be sick. wish i had the scrilla to make it out there, maybe i can work sumptin out but doubtful :D

*bump* I can't believe it's the 3rd year!

So who's up for the pre-fade at a certain San Francisco institution (which shall for now remain nameless)? Strippers will be involved :D
