its lame that future sound of london dropped out...though i probably would have missed them anyway to see someone of greater importance...or maybe to get lost in a sea of porta-potties never to find a way back.

What are the chances?

On a whim, I've decided to head out Coachella's way. Besides a two-day pass, a possible camping ticket with gear, and other minor essentials I'll need, I do not plan on bringing or doing much else to get me there. I don't have enough money to rent a car or a hotel (they are all booked anyway). So basically, once I arrive at the airport in Palm Springs I imagine I'll have to hitch-hike my way out towards the festival. Do you think my chances are good enough to get me out there? To the show that is?


Every time I over-plan for something cool it turns sour. So, this time around I'm just going to ride the wave into the area carrying only what I (assume I) will need.


Does anyone know how well-guarded your stuff is at the camping site? I imagine it's going to be a huge pain in the ass lugging around my shit everywhere I go, especially trying to dance to Laurant Garnier or Prefuse 73(!).


I'd appreciate any and all responses :)

camping sucks too. nothing like a nice warm shower after a long day of dancing and getting dirty.

also, don't believe those asses that work the venue!
Those bastards told us there would be ins&outs for both days. everthing was fine the first day, but the second day they weren't allowing anybody to leave and return. It didn't become a problem until the sun went down and the wind picked up. Ohhhh god it was cold. Then, our friends who somehow managed to convince the secrurity to let them in and out couldn't find the damn car.
Long story short, i ended up walking up to a vendor w/ starry eyes and asking, "Where's all the cool sh!t at?" He returned w/ a sweatshirt that was crap, but i bought it anyway at $55 (Negotiation and decision making skills are hindered on L no matter what anybody else says).

I wish the shirt said something like "i went to coachella and all i got was this crappy sweatshirt."

lapdawg. where were you on that one? i thought you were gonna make sure i didn't do anything stupid. tough task i know, but still. :)

andrew - hit me back. not promising anything, but last night, ceecee and i were talking about the event. did you already get your plane tickets?

That sweatshirt has lasted you a long time. Do not deny the usage of the THICK hoodie! You got your $55 worth. =D

Unlike my compadre, I brought in a hoodie and was juuuust fine...that is, until someone in our group couldn't handle herself and I had to give her said hoodie and babysit...
 
Well, Tathra is off playing armyboy somewhere, and I havent heard from Buddah in ages. My friend jordynn is still MIA as well. So I may have a couple rooms open up. I'm also debating on whether to let someone use the other bed in my room, or if I should just hog it all to myself.

I'll keep you guys posted.
 
^^ oh, and Katie might need someone to take the other queen bed in order to not go completely broke. but maybe not. ya never know, but feel free to ask if i (kinda) know you and you need a place to sleep. :)
