CA, Indio - 5.01-5.02 (updated 03.24) - COACHELLA FESTIVAL **REVIEW**

Leaving first thing in the morning for the trek down. Had to revise some plans due to an unnamed bluelighter having schoolwork ;). Staying in San Diego tomorrow night and then I'll be up at the arsecrack of dawn to trek down to the show.

Everyone who e-mailed me got my mobile number. I'm sorry I didn't get back to everyone sooner but so many changes of plans occurred... everyone's number is in my phone and we'll all have fun partying together and seeing some GREAT bands.

<3

*edit*- beachboyty, check your e-mail. :)

but honestly, would you rick irrepairable throat damage just fro a gig?

coachella is not "just" a gig...even for radiohead...if they cancel, thom better be hacking up fist-sized chunks of inner lung or else he should expect to hear from a few of us about it.

and i simply can't believe that HYBRID is gonna be there!!!!!!!! this better not be a joke cuz it aint right to play with my emotions like that...christ on crutches - the method and hybrid all in a weekend???...i think i will DEFINITELY need to bring a change of pants.

ty - check your email

I just saw the other day that Hybrid was going to be there, I know that's where I'll be when they're playing.

I'm so excited I have butterflies in my stomach, mostly because there wasn't anything else to eat. =D

As I sit here still waiting for you to pick me up, I can say that No, No you arent. remind me to murder your room mate.

Absolutely incredible.

OMGOMGOMGOGM I SAW THE PIXIES!!!!!

The Cure was simply amazing.

the highliughts of my weekend were definitly Mindless Self Indulgence and Danger Mouse. I'd never heard MSI but have heard a lot about them, both really good and really bad, so I only came with the intention of staying for a few minuites. I was sucked in and stayed for the whole set. They were incredible.

And Danger Mouse...holy fucking shit, he dropped the greatest DJ set, hip hop, electronic, or otherwise, that I have ever heard in my life. the man is a fucking magician.

Sterolab also surprised me by how awesome they were.

I'll probably post more later about all the other bands that rocked, but for now, Im gonna drink a well deserved beer.

Howie Day: He played a few songs by himself because the rest of the instruments weren't working. I REALLY enjoyed his solo playing (on acoustic guitar), but when the whole band played, they sorta killed his greatness. Regardless, I am going to find some of his songs.

Beck: Awesome, funny, just great. Too bad he's a Scientologist. We got pretty close to the stage, too. It was inside a hot ass tent, though.

The Stills: I didn't really care for them much, my friends enjoyed them.

Black Keys: Bad ass. Lots of energy, GREAT music, the crowd was really into it, and it wasn't packed like Beck either, also in an enclosed tent.

Pixies: Awesome, really awesome, lots of energy, etc. etc.

Radiohead: Lots of fun, cool show, lights were cool, music was great of course.

Overall the day was very enjoyable (I only went on Saturday), though the 100 degree heat REALLY sucked, I sweated my ass off all day long.

Adam Freeland, Crystal Method, Basement Jaxx, Sage Francis, AIR, and Atmosphere.

I didn't really dig The Cure nor The Flaming Lips. The crowd was jamin' 10 times harder down by the Sahara Tent. %)

I chose to see Sage Francis instead of 2 many DJs....right next door. I heard the commotion tho.
