Thanks a lot starfalls

I managed to sell the ticket to a mate so all's well that ends well.
Well, what a weekend! Hope everyone else had a good time.
My favourite acts of the weekend were, in order of performance:
Kid Confucious - For those who don't know, an Aussie funk / hip hop-ish / groove group. As far as I can remember, they had eight dudes on stage - the lead vocalist, two guitarists (one of which also sang), keyboard, soprano and alto sax (I think; two horns in any case), bass and drums. The drummer in particular was awesome, really tight funk grooves, and the bass player was down the back getting stuck into it as well. They played an awesome set, and had the crowd totally into it before 2pm.
The Beautiful Girls - This was probably my favourite set of the weekend. They played a nice mix of tracks, starting with
The Biggest Lie I Ever Told after an ambient lead-in. I love good live drums, and these guys delivered. Some call it folk, but imo it's closer to reggae in some ways. I can't remember ever hearing more awesome harmonica playing than in that set either. Such a nice laid back mellow sound, punctuated by the odd well-placed rimshot. Aaaah, bliss.
Bloc Party - I've been really getting into these guys lately, and seeing them live was really interesting. They pulled off all the fast and tricky stuff from their album really nicely. One cool thing I hadn't realised before is that the opening guitar riff of
Banquet is played by both guitarists; each one takes it in turns to strum two chords, and that's how they get that cool effect. That was really cool to watch.
All three on Sunday.
At first when Moby started playing I wasn't really into his set. It seemed to me that they were just taking songs from the CD's, and playing them with a session drummer attacking the skins (I've never liked the CD's all that much. Nothing against them though). But then he mentioned how much he liked Australians, and things got interesting. I really enjoyed the rest of the set after that.
