So, I've been on Suboxone for a good while now. I started on a whole 2/8mg, now I've been taking a fourth if that for about 2 months. Its time to get off of them I feel b/c they are so expensive and a pain to get. I've got 4 days supply left and am scared as he'll of what its going to feel like with zero opiates in me. I know I've been on a small dosage (and for this very reason), but I can still feel even this small dosage. So I guess what I'm asking is: those if you who have finished off suboxone, how bad is it? Will I feel like I just quit my last Oxy, or not so bad or worse?

It won't feel as bad as getting off oxycodone but the withdrawals will last longer. It takes about 48 hours until you start to feel the more noticeable withdrawals. You'll be able to tell that the buprenorphine has left your system. It can be a real bitch but not as hard hitting as a full agonist. At around 48 hours you should be feeling some anxiety and muscle pains/tension. At around 72 hours you should be feeling full withdrawals, the muscle pains should get a little worse, so should your anxiety, you'll feel chills & sweating. Accompanied by insomnia & depression. You won't feel as "sick" as you would with a full agonist, like to your stomach or feeling like vomiting. Withdrawals can linger on for about a week. I'd say days 3-5 are the worse. Then the withdrawals get milder.

I agree w/ the above post...it wasn't as bad as coming off of heroin but withdrawal still sux. for me it was mostly body pains and the stupid muscle aches that feel like you need to stretch and I usually start punching my head board while trying to sleep.

I'm also about to go into withdrawal since I ran out of my subs. I've been on it for about 2 yrs and I got down to about 2mg a day. I'm not looking forward to this next week.

The advice on the previous two post is correct. However, I would suggest that you preserve the suboxone that you have an take it in smaller and smaller doses. It is amazing how just a little bupe can relieve the withdrawal symptoms. You may feel better if you have this for a while, especially in the mornings.

So, j0nj0n, how's it going? I've got a fraction of one left, so my fun wont start until Saturdayish.
