By what exact mechanism do anticholinergics cause delirium?

I know how drugs like atropine, scopolomine, and diphenhydramine work. But what exact changes do they cause in the brain to cause one to experience delirium? I know they don't agonize serotonin receptors like lsd or mushrooms.

There are several mechanisms off the top of my head including pretty much shutting down ACh transmission in the hippocampus (give you the memory of a goldfish), but I need to stop procrastinating now :\
