Dear Members of Bluelight,

I wish I woulda had this type of forum back in the eighties, but then, there was no such thing as the "internet" back then. Yes, I am older than virtually anyone here, I'd wager. And, although I'm not really a heavy duty drug user, I've spent a lot of time in Turkey and Spain, and thoroughly enjoyed the drug cultures there.

Not so much anymore. Now, I'm old and broken, in need of drugs just to get from one day to the next. Woe is me! So, why'd I join a group that seems to cater to folks that want to figure out every way possible to get the most out of what they probably were NOT prescribed?

I just need to KNOW! Chronic pain does really crappy stuff to you. The drugs I take are not enough. The doctors I see don't give a shit. So, knowing what I can get from what I have available to me is more important now than it was before.

So, I live on what I get from my retirement and social security. Got a decent place to live and a really fine woman who takes care of me. I got some pets, my big birds. Three large macaws. Then, there's the two cats. I write some, mainly on my facebook page and a small FB group I run for chronic pain. I'm a boring guy, basically. But, that said, I'm still a reasonably functional member of society.

That's about it.

Be talkin' to you.....Hazy Dave

Hey Hazy, welcome to the site. Not sure how you define 'boring' but three macaws and a couple of cats sounds like a recipe for entertainment to me.

Many of the opioid users on the site are receiving and using legitimately issued pain meds for legitimate pain, but it's not uncommon for people to supplement their prescribed meds with whatever else is available. It seems that an 'epidemic' of opioid misuse is making news at the moment, and doctors are often unwilling to prescribe.

Unfortunately this just drives people to seek what they want elsewhere, and elsewhere leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality and safety..

Welcome Hazy :)

Don't worry there's quite a few Bluelighters our age.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts.
