“By the dashboard light”

Sitting in your car, close to midnight the clock proclaimed
Silent, white moonlight cast shadows across your face
Yet illuminated your eyes, and the look I saw linger
It took me so long to work up the courage, to kiss you
Or for you to kiss me, or us to kiss each other…
As the tape whirred and clicked, I let my mouth dance on yours
Silently frustrated over choice of venue, choice of words
Every time you leaned over, I’d feel something
Zigzagging down my spine, lighting my fire
So tense until that first manoeuvre, allowing my mouth to speak
Unabashedly, rather than tentatively “just in case”
I could have hauled you over the seats, mauled you all night
Every time I move my head, I smell your scent in my hair
Making me hungry, making me yearn for your return
To those silent places where we hide, let our bodies and mouths
Do the talking, we speak with tongues
And lips that caress, hands that move and slide, tantalising and teasing...
Your fingers leave fluorescent marks on my body, tracks of my body's map
I tell you a thousand times over, I cannot speak with words
Because the words do not exist, or perhaps I'm shy
Push your seat right back, and recline into me
For I push myself forward, I’m only pushing for you
When you kiss me, and I open my eyes for a minute
Sometimes you’re looking right back at me
Eyes, such pretty eyes, illuminated by the dashboard light.

"Your fingers leave fluorescent marks on my body, tracks of my body's map"

that's great imagery!! so many people write crappy overly mushy stuff, but this is great !
