By chance, was admitted to hospital for a blood clot in the lungs

Hello. I just found out today at hospital that I have a blood clot in my lungs. I guess I am still in shock about the matter. Can someone give me some insight about what I am dealing with. I was told that I would be here at least three days to clear it up, but they really don't know. I am a little anxious about the matter. The doctor said he may of just saved my life tonight.

He is right. A pulmonary embolism can and has killed. Very often it starts as a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) which is basically a blood clot elsewhere, usually the legs, and breaks off, goes to the lungs and people can be done for before they get medical help. Expect blood thinners now and probably when you are discharged. Another med to worry about, SK. But you are still with us and thats all that matters.
