I think that if you have a low tolerance to opiates/opioids, buprenorphine can give you a high just like any other full agonist (though it will last a lot longer). I took 4 mg of suboxone with no tolerance and it felt almost exactly like oxycodone, except it was a little bit more stimulating.
Buprenorphine is not an ideal opioid to abuse recreationally though, because it is
1) super potent, and will jack your tolerance up with repeated use
2)because depending on the dose you take, it can block other opioids for a few days
It should also be mentioned, though fairly obvious, that buprenorphine can cause precipitated withdrawal, if you take it too soon after your last dose of a full agonist. precipitated withdrawal within the context of buprenorphine has NOTHING to do with naloxone, it is the buprenorphine itself that knocks other opiates off of the receptor's
