Has your illegal drug use ever come up in discussions with your doctor? Did you ever have to make some weasel fucking lying excuse to him so he would keep giving you drugs? Ever had to hide that you take drugs from a doctor? (I came out of a fucking GHB coma once in the hospital - as I recovered the Dr came in and said "Do you ever take illegal drugs? and I said "No, never")

I've been honest (if asked!) and it hasn't really had an effect on what I'm prescribed (dhc, morphine, lorazepam &pregabalin). Only thing that's caused a problem is a misdiagnosis of paranoid by a lazy (well, in my opinion, utter shite) psychiatrist. How 33 years of untrated PTSD was missed, buggers belief. It has caused a problem re: prescribed ketamine for the worst examples of phantom limb pain.
Then again, I've completely bamboozled doctors after they judged a book by it's cover: they never expect a scruffy, long haired hippie to be so knowledgeable about neuropharmacology, so in the end, they generally give me what I'm asking for.
