busted free-riding melbourne trams?

^I'm damn sure we're not saints f_y, but we have the sense not to complain when we're caught doing something illegal.
Yes, it sucks but you can't seriously look for sympathy when you knew the consequences when you did it. 8)
 
I got caught about 8-9 months ago, but they dont give you an on the spot fine, they just take your details and send you the fine if they think you deserve one.

Now I was moving house the weekend after I got caught with no ticket, but they only have the details from my ID, with my now, old address. So I'm not really sure what's happened, if I ever recieve a fine at my new address Ill pay it, but Im not gonna chase it up to see if I might have a fine.

The way I see it is I provided them with everything they requested, I didnt even think about the fact that I was moving, because I was expecting a fine on the spot.

yea i know its not on the spot i paid one before.
if this was 8 9 months ago like u said and u still havent heard from them id say u got away with it scot-free, congratulations, u broke the law and got away with it.
i was wanting to move houses anyway so if i can move out by the end of the month or sumthing i should be able to further evade my liabilities.
just gotta get some of my money from the fucken casino.

As is my stance with practically any thread, people are entitled to post what they like as long as it is relevant. Everything people have posted is relevant to your original topic, regardless of whether it's what you wanted to hear or not.

The topic is pretty dodgy as it is, and I will probably shut it soon - but until then I would suggest maybe you absorb not only what you want to hear, but what you don't.
 
Well if you moved house you may think you have gotten away with it. But have fun next time you go to renew your licence or get a credit card.

More on topic tho. Ive never had to evade any fines as i always buy a ticket.
And if i DID get fined, id pay the ticket instead of moving house.

bad credit history from unpaid fines = bad
 
iv been fined once but it was a concession card matter, and i DID have a concession card so i disputed it and was let off.
If you think you have a good excuse (in their eyes) for not having one you can try to dispute it.
You might get away with not paying it if you move house, iv know someone who did that, but like others have mentioned the potential problems down the track with credit or whatever.
I live in the city so where ever i go i get train/tram, and always buy a ticket coz im cant risk getting a fine. They should do something about the coin-only ticket machines on trams, i hate being like 10c short of the amount.
 
lol. this is the funniest thread for a while. people genuinely think this guy is the problem and are busting his balls, claiming he's the reason you pay $3.60 for a tram ride and acting like he is doing something seriously wrong ...

The tram/train/bus should be free and it should be subsidised by the people that drive a car everyday and ruin the city by causing congestion and pollution ... currently nobody bears these latter costs, but i assure you that within 20 years i will have changed that situation ... hopefully driving a car everyday will soon become uneconomical.

bahahahahahaha ... you pay $50 a week for public transport and you think this is a reasonable situation ??? i don't live in melbourne, but if i had to pay that much for public transport, i would definately jump the train and then write a letter to the government explaining why they should fuck off ... (although i'd still have to pay the fines as you need the power of a collective group to make any form of impact) ...
 
Some people pay more than $50 a week on petrol from driving to work and back. Then you have to think about parking costs and driving in peak hour traffic.

forever_young, if you really want to make a stand, don't pay the fine. Better yet, keep riding the trams without a ticket, and if they try to fine you again, yell abuse at them. Then come on here and bitch and moan like a schoolgirl.

Yeah, that'll teach 'em.

ps I feel dumb for having to explain this, but every casino game (poker is an exception) you are guaranteed to lose long term no matter what happens.
 
You can call them & get an extension to pay the fines. I always payy my fines but usually get a couple months extension to save up the money. If you click on this link it should let you know more about what you can do..

Ticket inspectors are cunts tho! i always pay my way, then the one day i buy a ticket but dont have time to validate it (cos the next one was in half an hr & i wouldv been late to work) then when i get off they get me even tho they can see when i bought my ticket. Fuck that, i may as well not pay my way.

classify this thread 'dodgy' and shut it then, go ahead and shut it and exert ur authority u powerful internet forum moderator.
