Hey yall whats good. So here's the thing: my doc just prescribed me buspirone (10mg) tabs. It says to take 2 a day and she gave it to me for anxiety. Now the thing is that she's my suboxone doctor so she wont prescribe me xanax! :X hahaha but anyway gave me this.

Here what she told me:

-It'll take a few weeks to work but i should start feeling better and it will help calm me down.

Look yall, im goin through a real rough patch right now in my life and on the verge of goin ape shit crazy an killin someone (ok maybe not that but you know what i mean).

Will this medication help me? Is it worth it? Is it safe to mix with xanax? I buy xanax through friends so idk if its safe to mix.

Also, im interested in hearing yer guys opinions/personal experiences with this drug. Did it work for you? Was it a waste? Any info is highly appreciated yall! %)

Didn't work for me. It's a real interesting med being that it's the only anti-anxiety med doctors prescribe that's not an antidepressant or a benzo or any other category. It's like a special category. It seemed worthless. And one 10mg makes my extreme ties tingly and feel weird so I stopped taking it

I tried it for a few weeks a few years ago and I didn't really like it..
Kinda gave me a weird vertigo-ish feeling.

I don't trust all these new drugs either, they are just...too new..so we don't know enough about how they effect us really IMO. Same with all these fuckheads and their RC's. Idioits if you axe me...but you didn't.

Look I'm rambling on like Jimmy Page LOL.

Yeah todays is my first day taking it so ill report back in few weeks let yall know how it turns out. I felt real 'dizzy' after taking 2 of them (20mg total) within a few hours apart. I had also taken 400 wellbutrin earlier today so i dont know if that had anything to do with it. Idk made me feel sick and disoriented.

But anyway, ill let ya guys know how it turn out with this med in a few weeks.

It sucks. I think this may be more of an aid for like stage fright type anxiety. Particularly when combined with a beta-blocker propranolol eg..

Your right, we didn't :). All drugs were RC's at one stage. Everything from Atenolol to Zyban was once an RC. Differences in the fuckheads is that some were paid to try these RCs, whereas others paid to try them.

Hey look yall heres the thing, i took it and got sick (dont know if it was the combo of other stuff or not). But like lostinthespace said its for stage fright. Is the drug supposed to take full effect after a few weeks or immediately?

it really didnt do anything for me except randomly give me a pulsating feeling in my head about every other 30 mins or so, which actually made me feel anxious ironically.

Shit's garbage. Took it when I was in college. It was one of the first meds they put me on for anxiety. It made me very dizzy and sleepy and did NOTHING for my anxiety.

I'd say that's pretty similar to how I felt. It's a weird pulsating feeling, I got a tingly feeling in my hands and head and it was really uncomfortable. Made me anxious as well.

It does not work instantly and is not supposed to, yet some doctors give it to their patients as if it is indeed a quick relief medication. My mother is anti-prescription medications (that aren't essential for her health, she eats a vegan diet, is super health conscious, and obviously refuses prescriptions because of my addition issues) and one night she had a panic/anxiety attack, full blown. She was hyperventilating, afraid, and had just a classic panic attack, but extreme enough that my father rushed her to the hospital.

She ended up telling the doctor that she didn't want "ANYTHING That is addictive...for the anxiety." So rather that giving her 10 low dose Ativan or Valium as ONE time thing (which would not cause any addiction, and my mother doesn't have an addictive personality, doesn't drink, doesn't have vices), the doc gave her a RX for buspirone 5mg I believe. It was pathetic. Knowing nothing particularly about prescriptions at the time, I believed her when she said if I took one it would relax me and help me sleep. She and the doc were clearly wrong. I took one or two even (they may have been 10mg but I remember it being yellow and low dose (the ethex 264 or 265 ones)) and it did nothing. I was like wtf?

I didn't have an experience with buspirone again until I was prescribed it within the past year and it was just horrible. I couldn't stand to take it long enough for it to kick in after weeks and supposedly begin therapeutically working. My sister's roommate was on buspar as well and she was convinced that it was an "as needed" med as well, like a benzo or something, and the placebo of that literally stopped that girl's anxiety. It was sad. And weird at the same time.

I just only benefited from a benzo for anxiety. Even all the SSRIs and SNRIs promised to me to work for anxiety, indeed did NOT work for anxiety. So frustrating. Another downside of buspirone is that some 15mg and 30mg tablets are in the shape of a bar/rectangle just like a Xanax bar and scumbags fool amateurs into buying them as Xanax bars.
