Buspirone and social drinking

I started taking buspirone for anxiety for about a week now with some decent results so far. I had been under the assumption that buspar would not interact with alcohol so about 45mins after taking a pill I had a beer. Halfway into the beer I had an uncomfortable feeling and increasing "brain zaps" that people mentioned occurring.

My question is would taking my second pill earlier before I drank or skipping the second pill altogether keep these side effects from occurring? I tend to drink once a week

Not sure why drinking on busP would be necessary since they kinda do the same thing.. I did it once and it made me dizzy... I actually went back in Xanax bc I didn't like the dizziness effect at all.

Haven't had any side effects like dizziness or feel good like I took a drug. Just slightly less anxiety.
