Hi everyone,
Saw this thread and had to register just to post in here.
I went to a few doofs aka full moon parties in Canada. They were the most fun ive have had for a long time. Dancing in the forest around a fire until the sun comes up....
Ive been back in Sydney for almost 2 years and am trying to get along to a doof.
Can anyone PM or give me some more info about this doof in the mountains??
Would love to get back into the outdoors again!!
Cheers!!!

^^ Hi OPP! Welcome to Bluelight :)
The doof mentioned at the beginning of this thread was a couple of months ago so you've missed out on that one unfortunately. But if you want to get more info about upcoming doofs visit Australiens. Most parties won't list the directions until the day before so just keep your ear to the ground and follow the basslines ;) %)

I went to an epic bush party/doof in Ourimbah Forest on Saturday night. Called The Garden Path.

Was free, two stages about 200 people in a great location.

I know this may not be in the spirit of the thread but the most enjoyable aspect of the party for me was the distinct lack of Psytrance :D

What?!?! Blasphemy!!! Boooo get off the stage!! :!

=D

Just kidding man, each to their own <3

Meh, it's all two tin cans being tapped together for me.

The last doof we attended we stumbled back to our tent and played Johnny Cash until we fell asleep.

Oh man, i go for the psytrance! I go for the people and the adventure as well, but man... if there is no decent psytrance im not a happy camper! Psytrance enriches the soul, just like good metal :D

I was there too, that was no doof!
Well maybe it was... not in my experience though.
I'm firmly entrenched in the Psytrance family of doofing though.

I didn't like the atmosphere at that party, didn't meet any cool new people (I'm sure we just didn't bump into each other IXinX) and I just couldn't appreciate the music.
I think much of the problem was the two stages being so close together that it wasn't easy to hear one without the other.
Then again maybe I just don't like the pounding D'N'B and whatever else it was being played there.
Seriously though I reckon that second stage was trying to play stuff that couldn't be danced to for most the night, I kept seeing people go to dance there and then just stopping moving and walking off.

Did see one of the most amazing poi swingers I've ever seen though, my fire twirling mates had some chats with him but I was a little too grounded for meets and greets at that point. Hopefully we get to meet in the future as I have some twirler/poi swinger friends that would love to poi with that guy.

I gave it a go though! Can't rag on a party without experiencing it I say. I probably won't find myself at similar parties any time soon I think. Glad to have tried it and I did see some unexpected friends turn up there, so all in all a good experience.
Just a bad party... :p

I thought it was a fantastic party.

Met a few cool people from all around. One being from Blacktown and a bunch from Gosford.

The soundclash only occured when you weren't in front of the speakers.

But yeah it wasn't really a doof. It was better :P

My mates stage was mainly DnB and Dubstep, with some Gabba and Jungle through it too. Certainly not your typical "doof" music.

Each to their own. A little sad to hear you didn't enjoy it. I love that area and the aforementioned styles of music very much.

Did you have any chai?

The music is a huuuge aspect to a good event, and if the music being played isn't your thing it makes it very hard to enjoy.

come on, it's halfway from there to here! there won't be a better chance!

:( i can only doof twice a year at most :(

Doh! i so wish I could - if we didn't have our wedding coming up, royal doof and me starting a new job i would definitely go for it! I'll be there in spirit! :)<3

anzac day long weak end
come or i'll shake my fist harder
and you don't want that

That sounds like my kind of party. Really into dubstep at the moment

I also want to get along to some psytrance doofs too.

Thanks n30phy7e!!

Whats regen that people are talking about??

IXinX - Any plans for another of these parties in the near future???
