I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease and am currently on a lot of meds for that and treatment resistant major depressive disorder.

About a year ago I started noticing that once in a while my tears actually cause a burning sensation in my eyes and the only conclusion I can come to is that my body is periodically expelling or producing an enzyme or chemical which is acting as an irritant.
I'm on

Gabapentin 800mg 4x/day
Savella (milnacipran, much like Lyrica) 50mg 2x/day
Ropinirole (for RLS/tremors) 2mg 1x/day
birth control
Lexapro 20mg 1x/day
Abilify 2mg 1x/day
Cogentin 1mg 2x/day
Hydrocodone (but I take morphine, dilaudid, heroin sometimes)
tizanidine (Zanaflex) at bedtime
and a bunch of diphenhydramine

Could any of these be at fault? I think the Savella and the Gabapentin were the only things of these I was on when this first started so I'm more inclined to think it's the illness/my body. Anybody else had issues with this?

They cause the burning. And it seems pretty random except that it happens during fibro flares so I really think it's related to that.

Harm, stfu

Other Common Symptoms - Non-cardiac chest pain, acid reflux, irregular heart beat or palpitations, shortness of breath, numbness and tingling sensations, the feeling of swollen extremities, chemical sensitivities, nasal congestion, premenstrual syndrome and painful periods, irritable bladder, interstitial cystitis, vulvodynia (vulvar pain), difficulty focusing eyes, dry or burning eyes and mouth

If you continue to find little or no relief you should seriously consider the aproach i sent you. Im almost two and a half yeas absolutely symptom free. It really is an awful disease.

i get that from lyrica btw in case that helps. a lot. even if i rub my eyes they burn.

Wez, do you have chronic dry eyes?
Sounds like the meds are irritating an already existing eye condition.

I have chronic ringing in the ears, which I believe was caused by tramadol a few years ago. Messed my ears up, I swear to it.

No, I don't have chronic dry eyes. They actually water quite a bit when they are burning, so I know it's the tears that's doing it. I also have tinnitus/tunnel hearing. It's so annoying.

I do have a lot of issues because I take a lot of meds daily, similar to yours + methadone. Does the Ropinirole work?

Why are you taking that many? If you don´t mind me asking

Meds for the fibro/pain, meds for the depression, meds for the side effects of the meds

I hate it :( but they seem to help. The ropinirole does help with RLS.

Yeah.. I hate them too.
Specially the meds for the side effects which I try to avoid, but it does not get any better..

I'm gonna have to switch up. The Abilify has helped my mood IMMENSELY but it's making my neuropathy worse.
I hate having to trade something for something else.
