Opioids Buprenorphine Script

Hey all, a friend of mine recently got a prescription for Buprenorphine , the prescription literally says "Buprenorphine". Now, the problem is no pharmacies carry this, they all carry Subutex, Suboxone, etc. My understanding is that Buprenorphine is the (or one of the) active ingredients, not the commercial name. I have never heard nor seen Buprenorphine pills, even doing a search here and on Google didn't turn up anything.

Did the doctor make a mistake when prescribing these? Or does this drug actually exist? We can't find any pharmacies that dish these out, we live in New Orleans so I wouldn't expect it to be this difficult to find.

Any ideas? The dr charged him around $500 bucks for the visit, if he wrote a script for a drug that doesn't even exist I think my friend is going to flip. I mean, I know that Buprenorphine is a drug, but it isn't something you get scripted right? Its always Subutex or Suboxone right?

Bupe is the generic for subutex... Theres no other ingredient in subutex besides the bupe.. No Nalaxone.. So there ya go.. just straight up bupe.. they should be round white pills with 54 411 i think.. and a score on the other side..

Correction: The doctor must have written something other than buprenorphine on the prescription, like a quantity, and a dose (and frequency of dosing/dosing instructions).

I have only had prescriptions written for Suboxone, and the specific strength of the pill was written down too, as well as to take it once per day.

What milligram dosage was written next to "buprenorphine"?

If he didn't write anything else, then yeah, he kind of fucked up...lol. I do'nt see how you could fill that anywhere, and it is not worth getting in trouble trying to forge additional shit on a rX.

The pharmacy should contact the doctor for verification of the script. If they are not sure about something they should contact him. Once a doctor wrote me a script for 3mg klonopin pills...there are no 3mg k-pins. The pharmacy called him and he told them what they need to give me.

Same here. Subutex=buprenorphine. So the pharmacy knows that and they are probably missing some other info. Tell them to call the doctor and get it figured out FFS. It's not f'n rocket science. Are the pharmacists just too lazy or what? We have phones and faxes and health care providers can communicate b/w each other if things aren't clear.

I am on pills - Buprenorphine.And please just read Subuxone Forum.
Mine are made by `Alkaloid`.I am in Skopje,Macedonia(South Europe).

I think there are couple more companies that labeled their Buprenorphine-Buprenorphine,and there is a few names +,like Temgesic .
If you know more names for Buprenorphine ,please tell i am just curious.
