Hey,

Quick question for all the opiate folk out there. Swim used to catch a buzz for bupe when he switched too it from vics. He was on it for two years and since this fishes doctor only prescribed him 2mg he got a norbup buzz every day. After getting off and stepping up to tar swim is now back on the subs. After only being on them for a week with no buzz. Swim is curious, before swim body gets dependent on suboxone. Swim was wondering how long of a time swim would need to stop taking the subs before he can get his bup buzz back. Swim doesnt want to use H anymore but really misses the energy and itch he used to get from sub. can someone give swim an idea of how long he needs to be off the subs before it will give him a buzz again. This is my first post so im sorry if rules were violated.
thanks for the help.

I don't think veterinarians are allowed to prescribe bupe 8). Also we don't use SWIM here.

If you were dependent on heroin and switched to bupe, if you stop taking the bupe abruptly you will still get withdrawals, as you are still dependent on opioids even if you haven't been on bupe very long. You would need to taper off the bupe, then go a while without taking any opioids in order to reduce your tolerance to the point where it gave you a buzz again, and even then it really varies from person to person and many people feel like their tolerance never completely resets. What dose are you on now? Some people find taking a lower dose actually gives them more effects than a higher dose.

hahah my cat used to get bupernex when he was sick from our vet.

I'm currently on a 8 mg dose that I've cut down to 4 mg today. I've been off H for two weeks so I'm assuming that its out of my body by now. I was on bup for 2 years and stopped it with out experiencing any withdrawal symptoms. So, I know that this stuff has a long half life and should be off of it for 5 days before it really gets out of your system. However, since you can't really build a tolerance to bup. Do you think 5 days + 7 days will be enough to get the effects back.

You most certainly can build a tolerance to bupe, and you most certainly can experience withdrawal symptoms.

I think the first step would be to see how low you can get your bupe dose without withdrawal symptoms.

Yeah, I agree with TheAzo. And as I said, a lot of people find they actually feel more from lower doses of bupe than from higher doses. And that less tolerance builds with low doses as well. I am really surprised you never got any withdrawal symptoms at all when you stopped taking bupe after 2 years, (are you sure you didn't just switch to another opioid right away? ;)). If not, you were very lucky! But that doesn't mean you won't get withdrawals now, especially since you're taking 8mg/day and not 2mg. And the longer you take it the more likely you will be to get withdrawals, so I'd try to taper off it now if you can. As for trying to get effects from it, I'd try taking a lower dose (and give it a few days since the previous higher dose will take a while to clear from your system), and if that doesn't work take a week or so break. Everyone is so different so there is no way to know what's going to work for you.

Honestly, thinking about it, "how can I get high off my bupe" is not really a harm reduction question, but I still think this thread has harm reduction value since it's about decreasing one's dependence, tolerance and dose/use, so I think it's allowed. Any of the other mods can correct me if i'm wrong for allowing it though :)

if you want to swim go to a pool everyone knows your talking about yourself and so would the authorities if they read this

We don't use SWIM here; it's against the rules and is quite honestly ridiculous. It also makes your post unnecessarily difficult to read.

dude i've been snorting suboxone 6 months now. i still ge a buzz every time. because bup has such a long half life thus bup builds up in your system especially if you have been taking it long, i can go 1-2 days off the subs and not feel withdrawal because of the reasons i said above.

sometimes if im stressed or want to have fun ill take suboxone every day for a week, and it gives me a sweet buzz, nothing amaziing like H but more of a mood/energy lift. a nice pick me up haha. however!!! i smoke weed everyday so thats might why i can get high everyday/, i also hav a script for klonopin, lyrica, and hydroxyzine which i take with bup to make it feel like ive done h. benzos ake me feel fucking amazing on subozone, combined with lyrica, hydroxyzine, weed, DXM, and nicotine.
