I just injected .3 mg of buprenorphine I.M. I don't feel very much from this, should I inject more? I have a fair amount of opiate tolerance although I haven't taken any opiates in 5-6 days.

Also, the bupe I have expired in Jan 2010 if that matters but it is in sealed vials.

Isn't bupe pretty bad if you hit it anywhere but your veins? I'd say don't inject any more into your muscles til you figure out where it goes. If you have tolerance, you'd need more than .3 mg, certainly, through any other route. What's your opiate tolerance? And again, let me reiterate, don't shoot any more bupe into your muscles. People lose limbs over that shit, check the case study thread in Other Drugs, it's full of gory photos IIRC.

So long as you have an actual bupe injection preparation I'm not aware of any reason it can't be injected IM though I could be mistaken. If it was a shot extracted from a pill or strip then yes it is not really safe for any kind of injection but IM is worse than SC is worse than IV. With proper micron filtration and injection technique you can minimize the risk but IM greatly increases it.

As for the dosage bupe is about 30 times stronger than morphine I believe? It should say in my signature's opioid equiv thread. Remember that IM will take some time to absorb and bupe has a long half life so taken it daily will build up in your system.

The vials I have say they are for IM or IV injection. I doubt they would say that if it wasn't safe to IM. I'm guessing people losing limbs were IMing pills, which I would never do.

My opiate tolerance is such that it takes me about 1/6th gram of heroin to get really high.

I did another injection so I'm at .6 mg right now and I still don't feel much. Pupils aren't pinned. Should I inject the remaining .6 mg I have left or just give up? I only had four .3 mg vials.

My guess was that you were shooting a pill, my bad. If it's pure, then you should be able to IM it, but IV should be slightly more efficacious. And if you're shooting 1/6th of a gram I can't imagine anything less than 8 mg bupe would help you. Keep in mind it won't get you very high, if high at all, but it will make you feel somewhat stable. But I'd start low and ramp it up...go to .5 mg, then 1 mg in 20 minutes if that doesn't work, increase by 0.5 mg every 20-30 min to keep it safe...bupe has a long half life so it will all add up, meaning you must be careful.

Honestly I'd write it off like you said, if you only have a small amount. Bupe isn't even that fun to begin with. And I doubt you'll feel much. So just be safe and stop now.

Well thanks for your responses. I already injected the rest, LOL I'll report back on whether I get a buzz. And I sniff heroin, don't shoot it.

Ok my pupils are pinned now and I feel mildly opiated but overall heroin works way better for relieving my chronic pain and getting me high. Maybe 1.2 mg is still not enough? Not that I expected it to be like heroin of course, but it is really quite subtle. I might not even notice I was opiated if say I ingested this stuff accidentally. I was hoping that I would really like this because then I might consider getting a suboxone script and getting off street expensive opiates.

If you have any tolerance at all, you won't get much euphoria from bupe. The only people I've met that enjoy it are people with no opiate tolerance at all. Of course, they also puke for a day straight, generally. I've taken it for chronic pain (it's available for that purpose in .2 temgesic tablets) and it's pretty much worthless for that with even a mild tolerance.

It's great for avoiding being dopesick though. After a few days, when your plasma levels build up, it feels like an antidepressant.

You know, that's interesting because I like I said I stopped using heroin 5-6 days ago. I wasn't sure whether or not I was experiencing withdrawal. I had been following the usage schedule prescribed on heroinhelper which is designed to prevent physical dependence. The schedule allows you to use as much heroin as you desire for 8 hours but then you must stay clean for the next 64 hours and then you can use again for 8 hours, etc.

So I'd been doing that for several months and I think getting mild withdrawal symptoms which for me really only consisted of my body having narrower window of acceptable environmental temperatures. In other words, if it was too hot I would get hot very quickly and feel uncomfortable and sweat and this would happen even if it was just a little bit too hot and I was more sensitive to cold as well. Other than that, I had no withdrawal symptoms.

So tonight I took the bupe after 5-6 days no heroin, with me not even really knowing whether I was in heroin withdrawal or not. I think the fact that the bupe has not made me feel significantly better, means that I actually was not suffering from heroin withdrawal or at least it was very mild withdrawal.

So, the good news is that the 8/72 hour schedule seems to work. You might develop a mild dependence with mild withdrawal symptoms but you won't get any significant withdrawal from using that way (although that could potentially change if you did it for several years maybe). The bad news is that it doesn't prevent tolerance from skyrocketing.

And the reason I never took bupe back when I had no opiate tolerance is because I was scared of puking for 24 hours. With my tolerance though, I don't even feel the slightest twinge of nausea.

Well overall this has been interesting. I did get high from this with an above average body buzz. Better than the body buzz I get from from heroin most of the time actually. However, it did nothing for my chronic pain. Heroin is so much of a better painkiller it seems.
