If I take 30mg of hydrocodone for a recreational high, how much of a suboxone strip should I take to get good effects?
I have all the conversion information but I can't math hard enough.

I see that 10mg of hydrocodone (at 80% oral BA) = .25mg buprenorphine (at 35-40% sublingual BA).
So how many mg of bupe needs to go under my tongue??

Suboxone doesn't get ya high. Idk why ppl think it does. Its made to take withdraw away when ya ain't got any other opiates.

trust me if you shoot an 8mg sub your going to get high, unless you have a realy high tolerance

8mg even just sublingual would be too much for an opiate naive person.

OP, IDK about the math you're trying to do, but if you take 30 of hydrocodone, I'd say to start with 2mg of Suboxone.

Note that it's going to be a different high than you're used to.

Opiate naive? Yeah you'll get a buzz out of suboxone for sure. Just start with 2mg and go from there. When i was in rehab a chick who was addicted to codeine took 4mg and got whacked out of her brain lol

Be careful dude without a tolerance suboxone is a WICKED potent opiate. It is very easy to go overboard and find yourself extremely uncomfortable puking

Honestly I had a pretty hefty habit and I was getting a nice buzz off them I just wish it stayed that way now that I tapered to be stable on 0.5 mg and went back up to 2 mg I get a nice mood lift and if I add a benzo in I actually get a decent amount of euphoria and nod. I had a nice supplier for etizolam and last I heard from him he was putting in a new order and that it took 10-14 days to arrive so I'm hoping I hear from him soon I'm looking to place an order for 100 of them.

If you've never really had a habit, even a small amount of buprenorphine will get you high....If all you've ever done is low dose hydrocodone, you'll probably feel 2 mgs.....

Then again, I'm taking 2 mgs a day of bupe just to maintain and I could probably take 16 mgs right now and not really get high from it like I would with just about any other opiate....

Buprenorphine at temgesic dosages definitely gets you high with a low tolerance, since doses under 2-4mg sublingual (<1-2mg insufflated, <0.66-1.33mg IV) don't fill up ALL you opioid receptors with bupe, letting bupe's main metabolite, norbuprenorphine, a full MOR agonist pass through and activate the Mu Opioid receptors (MOR).

The higher your opioid tolerance gets while using full agonists, the more and more Mu opioid receptors are created, along with your endorphins (and possibly endocannabinoids) being downregulated. The more and more receptors you've created as a consequence of your opiate binge(s), the harder it is for your natural enkephalins, endorphins, and dynorphins to fill up enough opioid receptors to stabilize the person, failing to keeping them out of withdrawal, hence, physical dependence. So, for hardcore opioid users (IV heroin and other strong opioids for a long time), then yes, it makes sense to take more than 2-4mg sublingual bupe as a maintenance dosage, to fill up all those extra receptors you were making with each progressively higher and higher dose.

However, most opioid addicts do just fine taking 4-8mg SL 24 hours in, and then 2-4mg SL 48 hours in, then 2mg SL once a day for a couple weeks to a month, during which they slowly taper down to bupe dosage of only 0.5mg once a day or once every other day.

For example, BlueHues, youare getting more opioid activity (not saturation, but Mu activation) with your 2mg SL bupe dosage compared to taking 8-16mg and saturating your MOReceptors and DOReceptors with Bupe, which is a competitive partial agonist with a much higher affinity for the mu opioid receptors (MOR) than its full agonist metabolite, norbuprenorphine.

^That's very interesting, the whole nor-bupe metabolite thing....So I'm assuming that some of the bupe doesn't metabolize into norbupe and is active on it's own....

So if you take a lot of it, the bupe itself saturates the mu receptors preventing any nor bupe from binding to them.....which is why, less is more with bupe in many cases...

That's cool....thats the first I've ever heard of it...thanks!

take the smallest amount possible to achieve the results your looking for. I'd try 1 mg or an 1/8th of the strip, or 2 mg. no more than 2 though. you don't want totake enough to send your tolerance through the roof, just enough to feel alright. a lot of people take huge doses of suboxone because they think more suboxone = more opiate = better feeling. anything more than 2 mg in my experience is unneccesary, although it does increase duration. start with 1 mg then in an hour see if you need another 1. make sure you wait like 18 hours after hydro, 12 minimum when you take the first sub.

I'd take 1mg and see how you feel. That might do it. If not, 2 hours later, take another 1 and repeat until you feel relief.

And as for the talk about whether bupe gets non opiate tolerant individuals high... fuck yeah it does. That's why it's being abused as a drug of choice by many people, especially young people. Kids are literally starting out with bupe.. like many of us old timers started off with oxy or heroin. And it doesn't take much either. A normal person, with no tolerance to opiates, could take a tinyyyy little piece of suboxone under their tounge, and have their eyes the size of pin pricks and be puking everywhere they are so high.

It's a very strong drug. For us opiate addicts, it's no more than a way for us to not want to die while in withdrawal... no rec value.. but for everyone else, bupe is a big deal.
