Buprenorphine/Buprenex?

I Have a friend currently using this stuff for opiate addiction, and I am wondering about it's recreational value...
Any of you needle freaks ever tried Buprenorphine? It's trade name is Buprenex...
It comes in set ampules, she is a very experienced user of opiates, swears that it has recreational value for non-addicted opiate lovers, says banging half an ampule ought to do it...
I can't seem to find much anything on erowid or the net, describing it's basic effects outside of the context of detoxing opiate users, and of course nothing on recreational use

I have never heard of this being used recreationally, any advice bluelighters?

i have a buddy that is currently taking BUP...he had been addicted to OPIATES(MORPHINE,OXY,NUBAIN) for over 5 years, and everytime he would stop, he would get thru the withdrawals, but he said he just never felt "right"..he would take as long as 3-4 months off of the OPIATES, and he said he still didn't feel right, so he checked with a DOC in FLORIDA, and the doc recommended BUP...the doc claimed that BUP not only kills all withdrawal, but it helps "clean" out the opiate receptors,thereby making the person not suffer from any AFTER EFFECTS of OPIATE abuse...
he has been taking BUP for 3-4 months now, and he was taking it at the beginning to GET HIGH, but recently told me he takes the REC. DAILY DOSE his doctor told him to take..
bottom line, he told me he would get a real nice HIGH from BUP, and that it didn't seem like he ever built any type of tolerance to it...sounds to me like BUP is a great drug..it is supposed to be a "cure-all" for people looking to kick OPIATES for good...

Yeah, my friend told me the same thing...
Personally I am going to buy it and try it, I am currently looking for accuarate info on doesages, she says the people she has let try it (occasinal opiate users) generally do half an ampule (the .3 ones) Inter Muscular....
Currently I am just looking for any info on personal experiences people have had, surprisingly, Erowid and Lycaeum have let me down this time...
And I can't find anything that isn't mentioning it in the context of opiate addiction...
Any other people with info?

I was on the NIDA buprenex study and I can confirm that buprenorphine works great for cravings. It has a potential for physical dependency though at the end of the study I slowly tapered off, there was no way I could just stop taking it cold turkey. I was on 24mg sublingually per day , I gave some to friends and most people would get wasted off one 8mg pill . Do not inject the sublingual pills as they contain naloxone (it only becomes active if you try to inject it), I believe it was added to prevent abuse and illegal market of the drug.

Ok swim has order buphernorphine from overseas. He Received 75 0.2 mg pills with sugar as the filler for 100 buck(not a bad deal). Swim put one in his mouth and let it dissolve in 15-20 seconds, 2 hours go by no effects. Swim took 2 more same time dissolving waited 1 hour, also no effect. Swim called up Swam(someone who AINT me) told swam about them swam said "Ok I'll be over to try them swim.". Swim waited half an hour, swam finally showed up. Still no effects, so swim and swam both took 4 a piece. Time goes by 2 more hours still no effects, swim is about to say fuck it and throw them out, when swam says "lets snort them swim maybe they'll work at a higher concentration." Swim said "Ok." Swim and Swam crushed up 2 a piece snorted them and noted no burn at all. Swim went to play mario bros 3(the best one), ten minutes later swim felt the 2nd strongest opiate next to heroin. Swim and swam did 1 more a piece and 1 more 2 hours afterwards. Swim enjoyed them alot but never had the balls to inject.
Dosage: 2 pill at .4 mg snorting ~ 15 mg of morphine or ~ 1 average line of street h.
Effects: About 4-6 hours bad bad bad heroin hangover next day (maybe worse then h).
Definately what shulgin would call a +++.
