I'm sure there's some threads about this topic, but I don't believe anybody had enconutered the problem that I have.

I've been doing bupe for the past 3 years in between binges. When I barely have money it's always bupe. Rather it be SUbutex, Suboxone Pilss, or Suboxone film. The subutex have always been the most popular, and I would usually go for the subutex over the suboxone, but tbh I really never noticed a huge difference when insulfated. The Subutex wouldn't give headaches like the suboxone, and it felt a lot more pure, but other than that there wasn't much of a difference

Now when I started to IV bupe. the difference between shooting Subutex vs Suboxone is like heaven and hell. Subutex feels so much more pure, and I swear i get a rush from shooting bupe alone. It's not like a morphine or opana rush, but it's definitly better than shooting the pills and strips with naloxone. \\

I've read up a lot of things about how naoxone and buprenorphine work, and I know quite a bit about the subject. The thing that gets me is how when you shoot bupe and naloxone in the same shot, the naloxone is outcompeted, and the bupe overtakes your receptors. Well from my expierieces shooting all of them I've found bupe only to be superior. It's feelings are so much different, no headaches, peppy euphoria, to me it feels kinda like oxycodones afterglow but a little better.

Ok, so what I'm getting to is there has to be some naloxone that reaches your receptors when you shoot bupe/nal, or there wouldn't be such drastic changes in effects from both. I believe that naloxone does touch some of the receptors when Ivd

Hey OxCmorphone,

You are not alone in that some people do get headaches and such from naloxone containing preparations of buprenorphine. It may be possible that it is the naloxone touching some of the receptors, but remember to actually feel bad it would have to be displacing the bupe. For example consider a completely sober opioid naive person administered naloxone. It can attach to all the receptors it wants and won't make someone experience withdrawal like symptoms.

Another option would be that some people just don't tolerate naloxone well and are allergic to the actual drug and would get headaches regardless of the situation.

It could also be that the naloxone containing preparations have more inactives ingredients which are hurting your head.

Finally I've read somewhere that something like 35 percent of patients on suboxone complain of headaches while 30 percent or so of patients on subutex complain of headaches. This might not apply to you but for many people it could just be the bupe.

This is all discussed ad nauseum (pun intended) in the buprenorphine threads that can be found in the OD Directory in my signature.

^amapola put it perfectly, while it could be the naloxone, there are many other factors to consider. I would read through the bupe threads that can be found in the OD Directory in his signature and then ask your question in there, as you'll probably find better answers there anyway.

I'm going to close this thread for that reason, OP, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. :)
