Buprenorphine Suboxone Subutex more effective in smaller doses?
I did a quick search and found that which agrees with my theory because I remember ready years ago but forgetting buprenorphine is stronger as an analgesic in smaller doses before it starts to block its own effects so to speak.
I had 8 mg this morning and it wasn't very strong. 16 hours later Before bed I had just 2mg and at least as strong and the 8mg if not stronger.
I don't know if the dose was the only thing that had anything to do with what happened. It maybe due to a lot of factors like what supplements I took like milk thistle or other medications took. such as apap and ibuprofen that had small amounts of codeine for a toothache. And maybe the time of the Nexium I took which Ive been taking daily for a while. Or that Id eaten. Or maybe that I'd have caffeine before that first dose. Id also washed my mouth out with water the second time and it dissolved a lot faster.
Did some quick googling:

Maybe instead of having 4-8mg 1-2 times a day when I have them. I should just take 2mg every 1-4 times a day. Maybe even 1 mg. maybe the high would be the same or even better but I would last longer.
I'm not sure of the optimum dose or the optimum times between doses of bupe to get the best results. pain and sedation.
I'm also curious about this thing about small doses of naloxone acting as small low doses of naltrexone making low doses of bupe more effective. It's all very confusing and over my head.
if anyone has any experiences or feels like doing some goggling that would be great thanks.

More food for thought - the Suboxone group might additionally find "less is more"
because the small doses of Naloxone that do get absorbed act as "Ultra Low Dose
Naltrexone" in a way, making the lower doses of buprenorphine more effective than when in the
Subutex formulation.![]()
WOW! what you surmise with regard to the "less is more" concept just blew my
socks off! After all these years I dont know why it didnt occur to me that it was
only the folks I have known taking Suboxone and NOT Subutex who have made the claim that less is more.
WOW...thanks for the post...I have lots to think about for awhile.
