I've always been a dime bag a day dope user so taking just an 8 mg suboxone was always a cure-all for me.
But I know a kid who probably has done a gram of dope a day for 3 years and he said that he's jumped back and forth between the two so much that suboxone doesn't even work on his brain anymore no matter how much he takes. I don't know how that's possible.

It won't ever stop working completely. What happens is that going back and forth so many times makes the transitions from dope to bupe much harder. It can take a few days of taking the bupe and still being sick before your body adjusts to it once you get to that point.

Why is it that I have never developed a tolerance for bupe? I've been on it years, and it's always had similar effects to me. Whereas other stuff like dhc, h etc the dose would constantly need to be increased. I've never got this.
Yea, they were the worst withdrawals ever but that's to be expected when stopping cold turkey at a dose that high. Days 3-5 were hell, I was a little better by day 8 being able to sleep some by then, but I would say it took 2 weeks for the acute withdrawals to be over. I was away at college at the time and I remember it being the two weeks because they were my only weekends at college where I didn't go out or drink at all. I lost a ton of weight and barely left my room for those two weeks, so my grades plummeted.

Probably the ceiling effect, you can only get so high on it so tolerance is can't be gained.
I didn't really think about them so I don't really remember. I had other things going on that made me feel shitty, but I know that I had my best semester of college (in terms of grades) 3 months after I stopped the subs, so it couldn't have been that bad.
grREAT man thanks a glimmer is all i need !!! but good griefe ive been on so long its horrible but o well now i know it can be done! just need good support system and then finally a plan just in case! i think now i can fully get rid off the suboxone cause of my 2 children i love them so much i would die for them!!
