bupe equivelancy to oxycodone

How much oxycodone is equivalent to 2mg of suboxone.

Thanks
Well i read that bupe is 20-40 times more potent than Morphine and 10mg Morphine = 30mg Oxycodone.

Il let you do the math, but i tried bupe once when i had zero tolerance to opiates and i only took around 1mg and i was very ill and nearly took myself to hospital.

I dont know your tolerance but whatever all i would say is treat with caution.

Stay safe.

EDIT: Just found this on wiki - 2 mg of buprenorphine is equal to roughly 80 milligrammes of morphine.

So in my book that works out at roughly 2mg bupe = 240mg oxycodone

Im on bupe right now have been for 2 years but I found out today that I may have a seriose illness that would require surgery and painkillers and all that fun stuff. Im trying to figure out if I need to be totlly upfront about my past or if I can just leave it out. Ill know more next week I just wanted to kind of get an idea of what im dealing with.

It is difficult to give a conversion for buprenorphine, as sekio mentioned.

My rule of thumb is 1mg buprenorphine is approx equal to 25-30mg oxycodone. Your mileage may (will) vary. Start low.

Hi crimson,

I can only relate to my experience, so here ya go:

A few months ago I was given a script of bupe to try and quite Oxy. I did end up quitting Oxy, but not because of the bupe. I actually ended up abusing the bupe and snorting it when I ran out of Oxy because Subutex (with no Naloxone, or whatever) can provide SOMEWHAT of a high.

However, IMO... I was doing upwards of 15mg of bupe at a time (that's a LOT of powder, lol) and it wasn't even coming close to the pleasurable high of a 15mg Oxy.

If you have any questions, let me know.

It's going to be impossible to find a "true" equivalency for bupe to oxycodone because bupe is only a partial agonist. Even at low doses oxy will feel much stronger because it activates opioid receptors much better.

um.. if your going to have to have surgery my recommendation is going to be start tapering off of the Bupe now, because it won't do much of shit for pain.. just get down off of it to where it's not blockading your receptors then get the real meds and use them as needed.. this is a hard thing to deal with because of our addictions.. but you do NOT want to be screaming in pain when the Bupe is doing jack-shit for it trust me!

I'm really sorry to hear about your illness crimsonjunk, and I'm sure the last thing you need at the moment is having to worry about your buprenorphine and pain control!

Sometimes bupe can actually be a really effective painkiller - transdermal patches are becoming fairly common over here in the UK - but you're right, if you need different opioid painkillers then buprenorphine is going to interfere with that. Over here you would be able to come clean and work with the pain doctors to find the right solution for you (as long as you can see a specialist pain team) but I understand that it doesn't work that way everywhere..

Take care of yourself, if you need to vent or talk about things then don't forget The Dark Side forum here.. and good luck <3

Oxycodone is 1.5x stronger than morphine...

Yeah, but it depends whether you are talking IV morphine, or oral. Oxy is significantly more potent than oral morphine, but IV it's pretty similar.

Suboxone and subutex are literally the same drug, the nalaxone has no medical significane, unless your allergic, I suppose. Just so ya know, though there's like a hundred posts that say that.

And for 2mg of bupe... I have honestly never liked oxy that mcuh, so I have never taken a dose to exceed that, but it would take a good bit. BUt as other posters said, 2mg of bupe may be more potent than say, 2 roxy 30's, but the roxies hit harder becuase they are full agonist. I would start with about 40mg of oxy; that isn't a high or low dose, and will give you an idea of what your dealing with.

Well i read that bupe is 20-40 times more potent than Morphine and 10mg Morphine = 30mg Oxycodone.

All of the above is from a different quote. I'm just correcting the math.

You divide by 3 not times by 3. If bup is approx 30x more potent than morphine and and oxy is 3 times more potent than morphine, then bup is 10x more potent than oxy. So 2 mg of bup is equivalent to about 20 mg of oxy. But the information you provided is inaccurate. Roxy is 1.5 times as strong as the morphine so if the 20 to 40 times ratio you mentioned earlier is correct which it probably is not then 2mg of BuP would be equal to 40 mg of oxy.

Yes! Start tapering off now if you are not going to be honest. I was on it for months and i swear it took me a good week or so to be able to get high. It's like the shit builds up and just stays. If you don't you are going to be in a lot of pain.
