Buprenorphine builds up in your system, that can perfectly be seen on the 1st graph.
That's why when you lower your dose from 8mg/day to 4mg/day, you will start to feel a very mild withdrawal only 1 week after decreasing the dosage.
Interesting, helps give me a better understanding of why I feel crappy when I do with lowering my dose.
Are the percentages most likely the same or if you're on a much lower dose, would it leave your system faster? For example, on the second chart, it shows the effective dose at 50% at 37 hours. Would it be something similar time-wise for a low dose (2mg or less)?
I didn't realize it stays in your system for so long... if you are using it recreationally would taking it every 3 or so days still cause withdrawals if you carried on for a few weeks?

absolutely it would...depending of course how long you used. Using even a shorter-acting opioid such as hydrocodone or heroin multiple times per week will get you addicted over time
taking bupe every 3 days isn't recreational, really, as some people on maintenence only take it every 3 days due to the long half-life. there's no time for it to get out of your system so 3 days isn't long enough of a "break" from bupe if you're attempting to moderate your use to avoid problems...
