bup starting dose for depression (opiate newbie)

Yup, it was AM. No empty stomach, but I prolly had 2 pieces of toast.

I looked at the opiate equivalency chart, and 0.25mg still looks like quite a bit. To put things into context, 1.25mg of Dexedrine is usually enough for me, and 2.5mg is a lot; I'm extremely med sensitive.

Maybe I will wait a few days, and then try 1/2 or 1/4 of that.

Oh ok. Suboxone (bupe) is a very potent opiate. But it's unique in that its only a partial agonist. For me, whose been addicted to oxy, heroin and oxymorphone, bupe was the only opiate I couldn't tolerate. I could only tolerate it on a short-term basis, which ended up being a blessing. Not sure if you are a smoker, I am and cigs can sometimes be the catalyst that amplifies the nausea. Lowering the dose is a wise move, i would also drink a lot of water, have a nice breakfast and wait a few hours upon waking until you dose. Best of luck to you, be careful.

I don't think the expiration matters, especially since it was relatively recent. Also, I don't think it's precipitated wd, you barely took any codeine.

I'm with you on both counts here.

Not entirely sure why you'd feel so nauseous like you did, which is a shame seeing as you said it helped calm you down for a fair while.

Thanks, guys. My first thought was the expiration, so if that's unlikely, then I guess it must be the dose; I've also read some people can be sensitive to the Naloxone. What I liked was that I felt 'okay', without any high/euphoria whatsoever.

Otherwise, I am pretty sensitive to benzo rebound, and the only other thing I can think of is Oxazepam withdrawal contributing. The nausea was accompanied by a dip in mood, irritability and thoughts feeling somewhat disjointed.

I'll try a lower dose in a few days, and if it's still intolerable, give up on the idea.
