Hey guys, new member here posting for the first time. I have a pretty simple question for you guys...

I am taking 16mg of suboxone a day and have been taking it for 5 days now. How long would I have to wait for the nalaxone to essentially break down before I can do/feel an opiate? I figure I wouldn't be able to feel any opiates for a long time since I have a lot of nalaxone built up in my brain...is this true?

Naloxone has a half-life of 1-1.5 hours, however Bupe has a much higher affinity for the opiate receptors, so none is binding.

You have to wait for the Bupe to wear off, so probably 24-72 hours.

Oh man, all this time I thought it was the nalaxone sticking to my receptors. So even though I take 16 mg a day, for five days, all I would have to wait is about 72 hours? Damn, I was going to stop taking my subs for 5 days to be safe. I think my psychiatrist lied to me, also. He told me nalaxone had a half-life of about 24-36 hours... Thanks for the info :)
