My volumes are low,
My eyes muted
I hold my stance,
My guard is raised, aimed
Pointed.

I prefer to leave out the fact that I havent a bullet to save me.

So these are my barriers,
Newborn to me,
The child of a huge mistake
The bricks of before were lying in a mess at my feet
Presented now, in refinement.

Protection, I suppose.

But as much as I hate to admit it,
I cant find a war to fight to save my life.
So I continue, covered in my own foolish barricade
Fending off nothing but possibilities

I scream,
Eyes wide,
My shoulders fall,
I am presented, raised
Ready.

An uncomfortable silence is extinguished,
When I realized that you simply couldnt hear my smile.

My upturned mouth overtakes a troubled mind,
Clarity sets in
And I break my barriers to run to you.

So I havent a bullet to save me,
But I can spare a scar to find myself in this victory.
