building a tolerance to codeine

how long does it take to build a tolerance to a given dose of codeine?

I take 90mgs of codeine when I get a headache, it helps me relax and deal with the pain more then it gets rid of it, it just sort of takes the edge off.

I try to space it so at most I take it every other day, how long would it take for me to build a tolerance to this dosage?

I get headaches everyday so on the days I don't take codeine I take fiorinal to around the same effect, feel relaxed but still in pain.

I was thinking about asking for low dose hydrocodone at my next appointment at the end of the month, would I be able to switch between the codeine and hydrocodone to prolong any tolerance building?

my bigger brother has a script for hydrocodone, and he wants me to try it but im only 15 and i dont want to hurt myself. so i was hoping someone could give me their oppinion on if hydrocodone wud send me into some kind of trouble because he has 500mg's and he says they are strong to him, and hes only 21.

Nobody can tell you when you'll start to build a tolerance, not everyone reacts the same to opiates. Some people can continue on a single dose of opiates for a long period of time without having to up it. On the other hand some people need more and more and tolerance increases really fast.

Taking hydrocodone once is not going to send you into any trouble. Just don't continue to take them so you can avoid addiction.
