can someone fill me in on what a "buffer" is, in terms of testing--what is its function, when does one use a buffer, and how does one properly use it? Give me the scoop on "buffers". Thanks!

P.S. I have searched around for the answer to these questions, but I seem to be the only one who doesn't know the scoop on buffers.

When your using Simons/Robadope you also need to add a drop of another solution - this solution is called a 'buffer'.

Its function is really to make the chemicals in the simons/Robadope react with the chemicals that your testing - I presume that the reason its kept in a seperate bottle is to avoid a reaction prior to testing.

I hope that helps :)
