Budgeting. Is it possible?

As an addict I find it extremely hard to budget, even more so since I lost my job. I am looking for some advice from those of you that are addicted and manage to budget successfully. I usually run out of money 4 days after getting paid and am really struggling for the next 10 until I get paid again. I'm on heroin I am going to suck it up and seek proper maintance help. But until then do any of you have any tips on making your money stretch? Can you successfully budget in the grips of addiction? Any advice would be much appreciated. ~Bamboo
 
Gettimg paid weekly helps.

Just calculate ur four week income and subtract monthly utilities. If u cant get high just maintain, and if u cant dothat just get a better job... sounds harsh but life = hustle and everyones got a role to play.
 
You have to sit down some time and write down all the expenses and what money you have coming in. You may find out that you don't really have much money for heroin at all. I know I did this every week for a while to see if I could afford just a few percocet. Quite a few times I could. A lot of the time I couldn't afford it. But most often I got looking at the big picture and how little money I had at the time. So I bought things that would last. Cheap half gallons of whiskey and really good pot mostly.

I wasn't able to budget at all with opiates but with certain vices I was able to.

When you're in the grips of active addiction, your "budgeting" revolves around spending every cent you have on drugs, that's it. Hah.

There have been times in my addiction, where maybe it wasn't super heavy, where I could do it but.. it doesn't take much for that to all go out the window.
 
It's definitely possible. I've been budgeting for as long as I can remember. Even when I didn't have much of a job. Think about how much you can afford, how long it'll take you to use it, etc. You may have to limit yourself on some days.
 
I feel like I have stuffed enough ramen noodles into my mouth to feed all of Japan but I have managed to keep my budget, most of the time. Just using heroin I did not have much success though I will admit, it's too addicting and expensive. Personally I have to use methadone and get high once in a while if I am going to use opiates otherwise it will all fall apart quickly.

With all other drugs it works fine because I do not prioritize them over necessities.
 
nope, but there is hope.

you either have to make insane amounts of money (gambling, athlete, musician, actor, inheritance, etc)

or you have to do insane amounts of crime.
