I'm using the GT424 system with three plants and expect to get around a kilo dry weight. You can grow fewer, larger plants with a longer veg time or a large number with as little as 7 day's veg time. The roots need much less space than in coco, compost or other soilless media since it's a bare root system with no medium. It's not the same as other systems so perhaps you've been mislead? You could even grow a single plant in the most popular smaller system, the Nutriculture GT424 system, and get a gram or more per watt. The yield depends on so many other factors besides your system. An NFT system will not yield less than any other system. In fact, all hydro systems yield the same; it's just it takes a bit longer in some systems.
