Bruxism worsening week after MDMA use

Hi everyone,
I first used MDMA at a bachelor party in April 2015. I don't know how much it was because it was ground up and not in tablet form. I re-dosed about an hour in because I wasn't feeling it, and shortly after it kicked in. I had a great time and experienced no problems.

Seven days ago, a friend of mine was in town and brought some MDMA in tablet form (he later told me each tablet was a bit less than 200mg). We went to a club and I took a tablet. I wasn't feeling it after about an hour, and decided to take another tablet (I was very ignorant). Unfortunately I was also drinking a bit at the club. I remember the come up was intense and after dancing a while I experienced a fleeting headache and warmth throughout my body. I immediately was worried that I was overheating and chilled out and drank some water. The feeling quickly passed and soon after I was feeling great. The night ended uneventfully.

I remember experiencing bruxism the first time I rolled which was gone the following day. I experienced it the second time as well. However, I have noticed that over the past week, I still felt a twinge in my jaw tempting me to clench. This didn't alarm me much, as I expected it would be gone in a couple days. However, it is now 7 days since I used MDMA and the twinge in my jaw tempting me to clench my teeth is actually STRONGER than it was a few days ago! I am freaking out a bit about this and whether I permanently damaged the neurons involved with my jaw. Everything I read is about bruxism WHILE rolling; it seems rare for the symptoms to persist so long after the MDMA has worn off. I'm going to try some magnesium and see if that helps but has anyone had a similar experience like this and did it go away?

I think I am done with MDMA for at least another year....

I think you are right to try magnesium and to abstain from MDMA. Good luck.

From my experience I had it last year and that 'urge' to clench lasted for a few weeks. Its gone now but I've not taken MDMA for 3 months now amid other more serious problems I was having with it regarding anxiety and depression. I think it will go a lot sooner for you as you use it only on the rare occasion, which is sensible.

I've read other users on here suggest magnesium as a good supplement for treating bruxism so I would go ahead with giving that a try.

Just as an update- it is now almost 2 weeks since I did MDMA for only the second time in my life and I am still feeling intense bruxism during the day. I've started taking Magnesium citrate 400mg and it hasn't helped. Starting to get real depressed, I had bruxism at night before MDMA but having it during the day is 10000x worse. Did I really cause this permanent damage after only rolling twice with a year in between???

Don't panic. After taking 400 mg of MDMA, it's not at all surprising that you're still experiencing side effects two weeks later. If it is really bothering you then you should see a doctor about it, but it is unlikely to be permanent.

bruxism is a big sign of magnesium deficiency, take magnesium daily for two weeks not just 400 mg, but 1,000 mg
