Hey guys so i recently obtained a vial of some brown liquid LSD. It tested as LSD, however im wondering why it is brown liquid. I was told that it was an older batch, could this have anything to do with it?

I thought of that but when i was searching for answers and saw a mention of liquid that was once clear turns brown after a while. Is this true?

Sorry for the dumb questions, im fairly new to liquid lsd

The brown coloration does suggest impurities, if an LSD solution is fairly pure it wouldn't produce discoloration when it degrades... but the combination of the impurities and time (= degradation) is something else, who knows which precursors are still present then...
If a synth starts dirty it will potentially grow exponentionally worse, call that 'crapping' or whatever else you like

check this thread on the topic:

It can also depend upon what it is stored in . I have had plenty of banging liquid lsd that came in a used mint dropper than eventually turned brown. I figured it was either oxidation or impurities left behind in the bottle. Either way it was still a very clean and enjoyable experience compared to a lot of tabs you can come across.

Brown is the definition of impure, it isn't actually a color you can find in the spectrum but rather what happens when you get a rich enough mix. For that to happen you usually need either off the chain side-reactions happening all over the place or biological material present which will basically guarantee you the same thing.
Not to be mistaken of course with the kind of brown you can get from elementary iodine, or something yellow getting oversaturated. Or satay sauce for that matter.

Mint drops / ice drops do contain sweeteners like saccharin (not a glucoside) and other additives, but who knows what combined to make the brown color.

I have washed out the brown scum in the bottom of a used dropper and lasted a couple of hours bra shopping with the Mrs before I got her to drive me home in fits of giggles. It is sometimes a curse holding it together for so long as she forgets I am peaking off my tits and wanted to have a discussion with the shop assistant. Lady, I really don't know what bra goes best, at the moment your hair is moving about like medusa's.

I don't think I can necessarily blame any impurities ;)

So basically the color could come from dye in the liquid used, the color of the liquid itself, or a dirty synth. Its kind of impossible to tell which it is without lab analysis. Thanks for the help everyone!

iv never heard of liquid lsd being brown always seen it clear but im not to sure sounds like its impure to me but im not sure

Didn't you watch the movies from Woodstock? The brown acid is bad man, don't eat the brown acid. Lol, just joking, it can be anything. A peice of tobacco could have fallen in it, or a whole cigarette in the whole batch. I know someone that had some that was tan and it was legit.

Only brown liquid I had tasted like it was in some alcohol based solvent and I doubt it was LSD.
and actually it felt very similar to Mayan calendar tabs which were going around a couple years back.
Three hours till the visuals hit with a lot of restlessness. Plus the visuals didn't look like LSD visuals, still a fun time but not worth the price I paid

It could have been diluted in Bacardi 151 of some other high proof brown liquor

This crossed my mind. While the hippie standard for laying sugarcubes used to be 1 gram in 1 liter red label Smirnoff vodka for ~40mg/drop, people tend to use other kinds of booze like rum, whiskey etc.

How was it tested to be legit?

In the past brown LSD was LSA being passed around as LSD.

The ehlrich test turned purple(which i know doesnt mean it is for sure lsd)and one drop was insanely strong. I guess im only assuming but it feels like lsd for sure. I also have never had lsa so i guess i cant be 100% sure but ive never gotten anything but lsd from the guy so im not to worried about it being lsa.

It didn't taste like rum, I don't think it was an ethanol solvent. Maybe not even an alcohol it just kind of had that taste and it dried your skin if it got on it but I guess most non polar solvents would do that.
All I know is that it really didn't feel like LSD.
Surprisingly enough when those Mayan calendars were going around I was talking about them to a dealer I knew back then and he heard that those tabs were made from "brown crystal" so I don't know haha.

the fuck? source please. i have never heard of pure LSA being passed off as L. in fact i am pretty sure pure LSA is incredibly rare. unless it was tested to be straight LSA, id bet that was an ignorant dealer/marketing scheme for passing off an RC.

and OP, brown LSD in either crystal or dissolved in a solution isnt unheard of. id bet it is legit stuff diluted with a brown liqour.
