Brother took 12mg DOC?

My brother took around 12mg of DOC on blotters about 3-4 weeks ago. He didnt know much about the drug since he couldnt find any info on the web. Anyways he was very naive, and the dealer said it was just like acid only a little stronger. So he took them and ended up tripping for a night, a day, another night, and a morning. He said it was very intense, and that at some points he felt like he was going to lose it.
Today he confessed to our parents he took the drug, because he is feeling very depressed and keeps having flashbacks (he says the ones at night feels like he is dying). He also said he feels like he is losing his mind, feeling like he is becoming ignorant, and is very exhausted from flashbacks.
Anyways, I'm very worried about him and would appreciate ANY info about the drug, thanks.

12mg DOC is an extremely high dose of DOC...

Not a problem, browse through Trip Reports for DOC experiences as well as the Erowid DOC Vault which has an experiences section.

I recommend that your brother seek help if he continues to experience flashbacks and they become bothersome. DOC is not LSD.

I'm not sure how much you understand about DOC...

What is considered a HIGH dose is 5mg. You ingested 12mg of the stuff.

I would recommend seeing a doctor ASAP.

I am sorry to hear about that DOC can be a very tough drug, I took an accidental OD once and landed up in the ER thinking I had lost my mind so I very much emphasise.

It is an amphetamine derivative as well as a psychedelic (and as he found out can last for well over 24 hours) so it can induce stimulant psychosis as well as the general aspects of a bad trip, which may well be why your brother had such a rough time. Flashbacks are definitely not uncommon for really bad trips, and combined with the possible psychosis I am not surprised he is still experiencing problems. The good news is that it is highly unlikely to be permanent and I am very pleased he is talking to you and your parents about it. However, I would strongly recommend he seeks some professional help now, to help him recover from such a traumatic experience and to support him while he is feeling so mentally exhausted.

I recovered completely from my overdose but it was terrifying, and the fact that he is still experiencing difficulties now means he should definitely seek help, ideally from a psychiatrist - and probably a counsellor/psychologist to help with the flashbacks - and as soon as possible.

OP how did you come up with 12mg? Was that the weight of the blotter paper with the DOC on it or did the dealer tell your brother the measured dose?

Thanks for the support folding space. And gymstud, they were 1mg blotters so that would be 13 blotters, but he only took 12

I accidently took 24mg of DOM some 5 years ago. It got me to quit methadone, (lol k?) but I was still pretty shaken up from the experience for a bit. I had to get checked into the ICU and shot up with diazepam for hours on end. The trip lasted just about as long as your brother's.

I found resolve from it when I started smoking DMT, as that completely blew the DOM OD experience out of the water. I didn't adjust with lucidity to the DMT realm instantly, but eventually got the hang of it.

I don't know what else I can tell you that would be helpful. I'm sorry this happened to him.

I don't understand why he would take 12 blotter of DOC... That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. He knew it was DOC and took it... Beyond me...
