Brompheniramine to potentiate codeine/opiates

Hey all, I am a regular codeine user and have experimented with a variety of antihistamines to get rid of unwanted side effects and add sedation including; doxylamine, diphenhydramine, promethazine and dimenhydrinate.

Recently it has come to my attention some people find brompheniramine useful for use with opiates/opioids. It is available OTC in a liquid containing 2mg of brompheniramine maleate and 5mg of phenylephrine per 5mL of liquid.

Basically I wanted to know how others have found brompheniramine to go with opiates, codeine in particular but any opiate is fine. I wondered about rough dosing? Usually I would take 50mg of doxylamine succinate or promethazine if that is something to go by. I am assuming I would take less mgs of brompheniramine given there is only 2mg per 5ml.

Also I wondered, if phenylephrine is going to have any interaction with codeine or possible stimulant effects? Bearing in mind I am likely to be drinking more than 5mL to get a sufficient dose of the brompheniramine.

I consider myself a bit of a codeine/opiate detective and I like to try new combo's, potentiators and antihistamines. Soon as I saw this was available I decided I was trying it, but given the fact it is in a formulation with another substance I figured it was wise to enquire here first. Cheers guys!

This is one of my favorite antihistamines! Works great for potentiating opiates plus I use as a sleep aid when I'm cycling through dox and diphen. Seems to help with the itch better than many other H1s....

What kind of dosing would you compare to 50mg of doxy or prometh? It is 2mg per 5mL and I am assuming I wont need any where near 50mg. I use DXM to potentiate my codeine as well and there is a formulation that has 10mg of DXM per 5mL in it as well, would be sick if I could take care of my DXM and antihistamine needs with the one product!

Does anyone know if phenylephrine has any impact on codeine or sedatives in general? I am pretty sure it doesn't do shit but it is a replacement for pseudoephedrine which is a stimulant so I am not certain.

^IMO it is a little less sedating than dox or prometh. It's comparable to to low dose of hydroxyzine with my system, which I like as well, but it may affect others a tad differently. I don't know of too many people who seek to use it for these purposes even though I don't see why not. As for the phenylephrine, I'm not too familiar with it but it's not stimulating in the sense pseudo is....

Thanks dude you have been really helpful. What dose do you use? Since you are experienced with doxylamine and prometh ow would you compare dosing? As in, how much brompheniramine to be equal in effect as say 50mg of either prometh or doxy.
