Opioids Broken neck and no help for someone with a tolerance

On July 31st I fell asleep at the wheel after a 16 hour work day and crashed into the side of a stone bridge at 50 mph. My car did a front flip and smashed my head into the ground. I have a severly fracture c1 and c2. They released me from the hospital after 10 hours with 40 2mg dialudids. They lasted me 5 days. I had a previous OC habit. I don't know what to do, I'm in severe pain and no one will give me anything for it. My tolerance is to the point where I need at least a 40mg OC to get the relief I need, but I can't get anything others than scripts for 10-20 5mg percs at a time. Advice would be appreciated folks. ^do this. It is unlikely the ER will give you a large dose, you are going to need to go see a pain specialist for this issue. You say you had a previous habit, does this imply you have a tolerance, not exactly clear though you mentioned in the title you do. If you havnt used in some time and your tolerance is basically back to normal then you have been basically just abusing your pills. Not judging you here, but you will need to take the prescribed dose or the drs will get very leery and reduce your pain meds, even if you truly need them.

40 2mg dialudids seems like an awfully low number for a broken neck. Also not sure if your shooting them but they will run out very very quickly if you are, dont do this.

Anyway, go to the ER, get a few maintenance pills and contact a pain specialist as quickly as possible. Not to advocate this but if need be can you still get OC's, it might be a decent option if the pain is really bad before the specialist meeting.

thanks for the kind answer...I certainly am not IVing anything...Even when I used opiates recreationaly I swallowed them 90% of the time and would snort them here and there at parties. I have access to plenty of stuff on the street, my cousin is a doctor shopper. His state of affairs is one of the main reasons I'm trying to be honest and responsible about this. I can get em from him but theyre so freakin expensive. Ive actually resorted to using some of my girlfriends suboxone because it offers some relief. One of the main probs is that I have no health insurance. I'm presently waiting for my medical assistance to go through so i can go see a pain mangement doc...
Oh, and yeah, my tolerance has gone down a little, but let me tell ya, im 6'9" and 320...
 
Im sorry, but something doesn't make sense here...a severely fractured c1 and c2 vertebrae would have been treated very aggressively with a pretty long hospital stay. HOw exactly did they treat the Fx's?
 
when you get your d's try snorting one when you are prescribed to take one, it will make a much bigger difference with pain releif, although it wont last as long and may make tolerance even more of a issue, but when in severe pain it might not be the worst idea so you dont need to feel like ripping your nails out.

maybe ask about getting on a longer acting XR formulation of a med you know works, with a ir for breakthrough. a pain management clinic is definitely the best choice, they will hopefully be most understanding.

like CH said, ER will most likely help you this time until you can get to a proper PM dr

hey i dont know, they let me out of there the next day with a fancy collar...i wanted to stay in there longer...i dont have health insurance so that might be why...no one can believe they let me out of there so early...
