Broken downstem!

Hey CD.
I woke up this morning to a pretty awesome surprise. My cat knocked my 10" bong off the fridge, and the moment I saw it, I was expecting the worst. It seems that the only thing that broke is the downstem, so I'm pretty stoked about that.

It's a 14.5mm width, but I'm not quite sure how long it is... ~3" maybe? It's a pretty short downstem, and I already threw it out because I didn't want to have broken glass around.

What size of a downstem should I get? It's not a slider. Any recommendations? I'd definitely want a diffused downstem.

edit: I guess it's not glass on glass. it has a rubber grommet around the stem? Could I still get a normal diffused downstem?

But if you have a good glass shop in the area, clean it up and bit and bring it over. They will hook you up with exactly what you need.

as said your nearest shop (for pipes etc) should be able to sort you out :D

Just measure the diameter of the broken piece and find another piece with the same width... They generally just make them in a few basic sizes for this very reason.

I'll take a pic of it when I get home. The only pic I have of it isn't very helpful..

Does it matter that the old downstem is a bit shorter than the new? Will that make it much more prone to snapping? I have a double bubbler ashcatcher bowl that a friend gave to me, but the downstem was too short to use it with!

If it fits, it fits. Just make sure the downstem isn't rubbing against the bottom of the bong
