Broke rib, anything I can do about it?

So got in a huge fight and long story short I,well not me personally broke it, but yeah. Its broke good, like where I can feel it moving around in there every time I breathe, and lord forbid if i sneeze holy shit!!

The hospital gave me a bottle of ib proph 800, and told me it would heal on its own. Been 4-5 hellish days since I went to the hospital, and it still fucking hurts, i feel like I keep breaking it again by sneezing and coughing(oh yeah they said i have fluid in my lungs), so i have to avoid coughing or sneezing or shit, itl break again.

Anything I can do about it? Would wrapping my body help? Since i am limited on funds I will have to make do with a bed sheet&bobby pins.

Broken rib is the one the most painful bones to break but yeah there isn't much they can do not like that can put a cast on it. Just take it easier laughing coughing sneezing is extremely painful with a broken rib.

Do not strap your ribs up... I did that after having my ribs broken and they never healed properly. Also, one of friends strapped their ribs after breaking them and wrapped the bandage so tightly, the broken rib got pushed back too far and punctured their lung.

The problem here is that you've broken a bone and you've been given a muscle relaxant. Try taking something with codeine in it as it may help the pain slightly better.

I used frozen face cloths on my ribs just to numb them slightly... Give it a try. It might work.
