Brittany Murphy Death Could be Tied to Drug Overdose

The Jewish people do not believe in autopsies and the body is buried the following day after the death without embalming unless the next day is a Saturday (their Sabbath) and in that case it would take place on the Sunday.

The thing I found suspicious about her husband is that he hired a lawyer the day that she died??

Thanks for the clarification on the Jewish customs; I thought that was basically so.

I can't imagine that any statistics are or could be kept on this, but a lot of the time when a high-profile person dies under unusual circumstances, scrutiny is placed on the surviving spouse. This is true with non-celebrities as well - again, I don't think the frequency is measurable.

On a personal level I would think this is slightly suspicious but for the fact that the police were involved at the scene where Brittany was found. Every person has the right to have an attorney present when they are being questioned by the police or to refuse to answer police questions without an attorney.

Brittany's will left her entire estate to her mother, but it was written before she was married IIRC. That may complicate things if the husband chooses to contest it. Time will tell.

shit i didnt know she was dead until i saw this post just now, just watched a thing with her in it not long ago too

rip

I'm sorry - I was being very sarcastic in my post and was referring to the fact that the media tends to demonize drugs unfairly that many people take for legitimate reasons.

Provided you are validly prescribed Ativan for a medical condition diagnosed by your doctor (I am not a doctor, I am just participating in this discussion) and you are taking it as directed (that is, not taking more than prescribed/abusing it/mixing it with other drugs/alcohol, etc.) it is a drug that has been found to be safe at therapeutic levels.

I don't think it's likely that the combination of Ativan and Vicodin killed Brittany Murphy. Referring back to jspun's post, a class of drug called "beta-blockers" can relieve the physical symptoms of anxiety/panic reactions through a different mechanism of action from a benzodiazepine (of which Ativan is one). The two combined together in someone who is hypoglycemic could theoretically mask the perceptible symptoms of a person's blood sugar dropping below the critical level needed for survival. But that is speculation as to Brittany Murphy's situation.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding!

If you have a more specific question about your use of Ativan, it is best to ask your doctor - but if you'd like to ask on Bluelight, the proper place would probably be in Basic Drug Discussion or The Dark Side.

That was one of the nicest responses ever. You are so damn sweet!!!:). I appreciate the clarification, even though u didn't need to. Damn are u a good writer:) Look forward to having my questions answered by you, you do such a good job;):)

Brittany Murphy's hair shows evidence of rat poison, her father claims

New toxicology results paid for by the father of Brittany Murphy claim that the "Clueless" actress may have been poisoned before her death.

The independent analysis ordered by dad Angelo Bertolotti found high levels of toxic metals, including Barium, which is used in some rat poisons, in hair that reportedly belonged to Murphy, Bertolotti claimed Monday.

Damn poor girl.
Great actress unfortunately this kinda ran her name threw the mud.
Let her rest in peace. Tabloids have no shame.
And if she was killed may the murderer rot.

I was watching King of the Hill today, Lou-Ann said the best quote, to paraphrase:

At beauty academy they teach you no one is white or brown, yellow or red, but your hair can be.

Brittany's voice just nailed it!

Brittany Murphy's death was probably because she had a level of platinum that was something like 1600% higher than what it was supposed to be. Also, aluminum, uranium, and plenty of others. Her husband died 5 months later of similar circumstances.

I was watching KotH on Netflix last month and I was loving the old episodes (including that one). Feels so much more like social commentary now than it used to.

Dale: "So are you Chinese or Japanese?"
