Bringing EZ Test Through Airports

Hiya, will be travelling to Amsterdam soon. Anyone know if any funny business occur bringing EZ Test to another country via airport? :\

As long as its not in your hand luggage you shouldnt have any problems. I suppose some customs officer could object to the chemicals being moved on a commercial airline but I suspect they have other more important things to be worried about.

These are toxic and highly corrosive chemicals and should not be taken on a plane! By law, these must be shipped/ freighted etc as Dangerous Goods This effectively applies worldwide irrespective of where you are located or traveling to. If the kits are discovered and the customs inspector is aware of the contents of the kits, you could be faced with more than you bargained for. My advise is don't fly with kits; buy or make them when you get there.

In such limited quantities is it really a problem - do customs really try and enforce the Dangerous goods rules? I’m sure they are more interested in contraband than a few mls of testing solution – yeah they could easily inform you that you shouldn’t take it on a flight, but it’s too late.

These kits are shipped worldwide – very rarely do they get shipped as dangerous goods, they are sent in the regular post, with no mention to the contents.

In defence with customs my argument would be, I received it via airmail – I don’t know what the stuff is but I assumed it was safe. It would be a very tough/pissed off customs officer that took it further, don’t you think?

Just to add my .02 - I wouldn't attempt this in the USA if the OP is from here - remember, we have liquid restrictions and I'm pretty sure you'd get questioned by ICE. :( We have to take our shoes off here, too...I just would not tempt fate in this circumstance.

You're going to Amsterdam...you do know they have free pill testing centers, right? Research them before you go and find out what their turnaround time is, and which one is the closest to where you'll be staying. Plus, I bet you can buy a kit very easily over there. Be safe and have fun! :)

Is the no liquid ban not only for hand luggage? The amount of "dangerous goods" that get moved around the globe in suitcases would probably surprise a lot of people - think of all the perfumes/aerosols/lighters etc that people travel with :0.

I would buy a bottle of marquis in Amsterdam use it on my holidays and then give it away when Im leaving :). Tell the new person to do the same (test it forward) :D

The amount of fake pills in Amsterdam is really high - dealers actively target tourists with FAKE everything (coke, MDMA, pills etc) so be careful!

Here are the rules regarding liquids in your baggage (carry on and checked): http://www.tsa.gov/311/

Still, if the OP is flying out of the US, I would strongly advise against flying with reagents. Like phase_dancer said, they are dangerous chemicals and would probably pique the interest of some officer who wants to be a "hero". LEO's are so paranoid over here that I could see a small kit totally ruining the OP's vacation. :(

I would not risk it. You would probably be harassed and searched and possibly detained.

Why not just mail it to where you will be (if possible)?

Put it in your CHECK IN bag. It should be easy to leave the country with it to Amsterdam but coming in I wouldn't recommend it.

But I seriously, all the super srz comments above me aside... see no problem at all if you put this on a Checkin bag and are on the same "flight" to Amsterdam. If you're going on multiple carriers and have to recheck your bag multiple times I wouldn't fuck with it to be honest.

Just an update if you haven't left yet, strobemylobe....

Our PR mod from Amsterdam says that EZ Test kits can be found at most smart/headshops around the city for about 50% less than their online costs. Hope this helps. :)
