he's is quite commercial ready and he has a charming Southern accent that makes me feel dignified and qualified for not having one.

Brett Favre has retired after just one season with the New York Jets, despite new head coach Rex Ryan (formerly Defensive Co-ordinator of Baltimore) pleading for another couple of years.

Brett Favre, known to be an emotional type of guy, retired this time without much fan fare and without even a press conference.

the New York Jets were praised as the team to beat in the AFC as they beat New England and then Tennessee (breaking their win-streak). however, the team faltered in December when they lost 4 out of their 5 games, placing them third in the AFC East and sans playoffs.

he did improve the Jets to 5 more wins, which was a place sorta considered as football purgatory because they have not won a championship since the days of Broadway Joe Namath.

do you all think he is done for good?
is he just too old now to cut it in the NFL?

I don't think he is done. Farve always comes back!

honestly... I've never really liked Brett Favre.

everybody was always "he is one of the greatest QBs of all time." sure, he is good. but not the best. sure he is tough, but I think there are tougher.

Joe Montana,Johnny Unitus,Roger Starbauch, can think of so many that were better.

He wasnt a winner. They squeaked into playoffs and usually got knocked out right away.

I would take "Big" Ben Roethlisberger over Brett Favre in his prime, anyday. Roethlisberger doesn't even have half the stats of Favre, and he quite possibly never will. Favre has better form, more flash, and is far more camera accessible than Roethlisberger.

however, Ben is a winner and he has won two SuperBowls already.

My pet peves was turnovers.

My coach never ever ever thought turnovers were acceptable. He played a smart mans game and didnt understand the "Play big" logic.
