Probably The Smiths. Pretty cringing now.

Radiohead to some extent, but it was more because I'd listened to them so much (like almost exclusively for a year) that when I heard In Rainbows, it grew old so quickly. But yeah, really don't like King of limbs. So tuneless and boring.

Modest Mouse were also a lot better during the 90's, but to all those who hate their more recent stuff. The song Parting of the Sensory is definitely one of my favourites. Amazing track!

I was in love with depeche mode as a teen... then Exciter came out. I found it to be shitty at first, then ok, then shitty again... then came Playing the Angel, which is ersatz shit. I don't even listen to ultra, music for the masses, songs of faith and devotion or violator now

Most people I know don't even like Modest Mouse so your group is already a step ahead. But yeah there are some excellent tracks on both Good News and We Were Dead, it's just that really for the first time there were also tracks that were complete misses.
