Television Breaking Bad

Damn. Great episode - but as with all things good, it's not enough. Now I have to watch Season 1 through 3 for the next year?!?!? Fuck...

I do love this show. They have suspense down so well. Walt and Jesse just keeping getting deeper and deeper - I can't imagine how they come out alive, but I trust the writers of the show will not disappoint.

I agree with LiveIllegal that two dead dope slangers aren't a problem for Gus - it's the disrespect for the boss that is the problem. Gus gives orders, and didn't get to where he is by not being sure they are strictly enforced.

So is Gail the first dead white guy on the show?? They did rack up another four dead Hispanics in the same episode though.

Damn did I laugh hard when Mike tells Saul "I trust the hole in the desert I'd leave you in."
Mike is one of my favorite characters. Smart, cold, and hard pit-bull.

Yeah !
kinda like that last one too
I'm still asking myself why a big Cartel would let a family guy, a methhead and a gay bachelor to be cooks though... ?

I don't think it's that either, though. I think Gus intentionally ordered a hit on the boy so that Jesse would do something about it and get himself killed, or at least so he'd have an excuse to go after Jesse. Just like he told Tuco's cousins to go after Hank so that they'd get killed and the cartel would get busted up by the Federales. Gus is manipulative that way and he always has an ulterior motive behind his actions. I think he was looking for a reason to get rid of Walt from the beginning -- remember he initially refused to meet with him. It's Walt's formula that he needed, not Walt.

That's my point. Gus was after the product, but he never wanted to work with Jesse or Walt. He just needed the product, and that's what Gale was always there for, to learn the formula. Gus trusted Gale, but not Walt or Jesse.

I really enjoy how open for interpretation this show is. I agree that Gus is a master Chess player, everything he says and does has been preplanned to protect and further his organization.

"You and I survive this, oh, I'm seriously rethinking my pricing. And that goes double for you hip-hop!"

Gotta love Saul.

bryan cranston has the award for best actor in the bag again this year. he is at the top of his game in this show. he truly brings walter white to life. i have such high expectations for the show and though there are episodes here and there with less action. over all it the most pleasing show on television ive ever watched.

Yea.....I thought the acting was pretty damm good....THEN....I found out that Bryan Cranston is the dad from Malcom in the Middle...I was like Holy fucking shit......No wonder he's getting all of these awards...He's head and shoulders above anyone else on TV rite now!!

I was so disappointed after reading an interview with Gilligan when he mentioned the limitations of the budget. The interviewer had asked whether after the second to last S3 episode whether he could have begun a whole new type of show where Walt and Jesse were on the run. That would have been BAD ASS!!! Gilligan revealed the limitations he had on the budget of the show, which prevents the show ever leaving New Mexico. That was a HUGE disappointment. You would think that with a successful show after 3 seasons pulling in 3 million viewers the suits would be open to upping the budget of the show. But given they are suits, it's not surprising they want to maintain the shoestring budget it's been on.

A lot of things after reading that started falling into place. Like why they re-used Jesse's original house even though the writers came up with a creative way for him to move back in.

Still though, knowing that budget limitations like that exist for the show makes the show less 'fun' for the viewer. But within that context, it makes it much more understandable why they resorted to such cheese like a kingpin like Gus giving orders to street level bangers.

Did you not see the last season?

ABQ has pretty much 2 options for Walt and Jesse - Death or jail

I hope the writers can stay true to the show in the next season as it's going to be rather far-fetched if something terribly bad doesn't happen to either of them.

Walt lost his soul man! I Was always rooting for Walt but than what he did to Jesse's girlfriend was pretty much disgusting and now Gail. I think the writers risk making Walt look like another street banger/ thug compare to the compassionate, family man with cancer everybody was rooting for. But I guess that is the moral of the story: ANYBODY, given under the right circumstances can fall from grace/ be labeled a 'criminal'

I think that's why that 'fly in the lab' episode was so significant. The scene where Walt was talking about a perfect moment for him to die was a great insight into his current psyche.

He did all those crazy things in season 1 + 2 solely because he thought he was going to die. Now that the cancer is better he seems angry and confused with the road he's taken. Now he's stuck there and has to live with his current life direction. He can't just go back to being a chemistry teacher. He's almost completely different from the Walt at the beginning of season 1; different job, different family life, different family dynamic, different attitude, looks different, different types of people that he interacts with, etc.

I think it would have been better for him if he just walked away when he made the first million. Of course, he got greedy and then started rationalizing his decision when Gus offered another 2 or 3 million in 3 months or something. Of course if he had said no, the two crazy Mexican mofos would have waste him since Gus didn't need him anymore. Hmmmm.

I think Walt is going to have to pop Gus at some point; just throwin that out there.

At which point he fills the hole as kingpin. :)

The wave isn't going to break until he reaches the top.

anyone think it's possible we find out there really was a chemical leak? or are we certain his boss ordered his death?

No, they definitely ordered his death. Mike was said "The sooner you figure out what this is, the sooner we go home", I think that about confirms it.

Walt was fucking awesome in that scene though. Goes from (fake) crying like a bitch to straight up Heisenberg mode. And yeah, he is definitely going to kill Gus. There is no way the two can coexist, and I highly doubt Gus becomes the new main character of this show.

yeah that powerplay by walt at the end was fucking sweet! that scene could have made mamet jealous

Anybody know when this madness begins again? Would have been good if the new series came sooner surely that way less viewer would lose interest?
