Television Breaking Bad

did anyone see tuco's homeboy weigh that sack of shards on a scale he was holding... in his HAND?

hahahahaha.

Ha. yeah that kind of bugged me. I don't know if it makes as much a difference when measuring in pounds, but that definitely would give an inaccurate reading with a smaller digi.

Those little errors ..

I love this show ... by far the best thing on TV, and so much of it reminds me of my cooking days ...

Not that it detracts from the show, but did anyone catch any of the errors? for instance, when Jessie was trying to cook meth himself he broke open a road-flare and dumped the contents (sulfur) into the bottle labeled "red phosphorus" (the RP in road flares is on the striking cap) .. or for instance when Hank (Walts brother in law, the DEA agent) was taking inventory of the school chemistry storage room and held up a 5000mL FLAT BOTTOM boiling flask that he called a "round bottom boiling flask" ... or when they were doing the reduction in the flask - but didn't have a condenser hooked up, rather it started to boil over and the simply stopped it with a tube .. also, when Crazy-8 and his friend were in the tailor and Walt used the phosphine gas to knock them out - simply throwing red phosphorus onto a hot-skillet wouldn't instantly make a cloud of gas ..

And as for breaking in to the chemical storage place to steal the methylamine (which BTW, a 55 gallon drum full of fluid would be far to heavy for two people to carry out - it would weigh well over a thousand pounds) - why bother? He said he was only looking for a gallon jug initially - why not simply either simply make it via a degeneration of hexamine (totally OTC) or even easier, go the formaldehyde and ammonium chloride router (also both easy to get) ... but hey, I guess it wouldn't be as exciting television of they didn't get to use thermite to breaking into a chemical storage place ...

Another point - methylamine and P2P would yield recemic meth (both the d and l isomer) so it wouldn't be as potent ...

Otherwise they actually did a rather good job of keeping it accurate, it's just those little things kinda annoy me ...

Can't wait for season two (there are currently going to be 3 seasons)

EDIT - If you missed any of the episodes, tonight (Sunday) they start playing all the episodes again

Great show, just wish the season was longer 7 episodes isn't enough for a show this good.

I know! It doesn't even feel like a whole season. That last episode ended as if next week was going to be another installment. I didn't even realize that was it until I looked online and could only find those 7 and no news of more anytime soon.

^ Yeah and IF he does. He has great treatment so who knows how long it will take. Though, his health has been getting worse.

The one thing that really kind of bothered me is they made Tuco too much like the coked out Tony Montana. Other than that it is a very realistic TV show that I thoroughly enjoy.

Me and my (drug) friends watch this show, and we were laughing one day when we were at my house watching this show and wondering how many people actually started to cook meth because of this show. I'm sure there has to be at least one person or group who started after watching this show.

^ Yeah, after I watched an episode with a friend, I remarked "So.... when should we cook up a batch?" Haha... really makes it seem like easy money.

For the record, I dont think that Mr. White will die, I'm also almost certain there will be additional season(s). Why would they start a show and do only one season?

my favorite part was when he's yelling at his boss....."whipe down these! I quit!" (grabbing his nuts and knocking shit off the shelves at the carwash)

i heard the boss was the director or something...cant remember now.........he had HUGE fuckin eyebrows....lol

walt cant die yet....his old lady is having their kid......

Love this new show. Like Weeds on Steroids........no meth......no.....you know what I mean.
Found it hard to believe that someone as typecast as Bryan Cranston could pull off a role like this, but he does, and brilliantly too.

I did however get a bit carried away and watch the whole first season in one night. Doh-now I have to wait till 2009 for the second season-curse the stupid writers strike!!!!!!!!!!

This is such an awesome show! I haven't watched much new television lately apart from this and I love it, so addicting. I watched the whole series pretty much in one sitting. I imagine since I know very little about meth it's more believable, however it seems very realistic, yes?

Yes, 1st episode is great, and then it kind of drops off for a bit.

I wonder when season 2 is gonna finally come out.
